Summer 2007, Photos by Gary Cohen

Evening sail through the moorings. I enjoy a nice after work sail. I usually get out on the water about 3 times a week. I dont sail very far. Just a few hours or so. The summer thermal seems to come up around 5 PM lately. When I was younger we always referred to it as the three oclock southerly. You could practically set your watch by it. And from what I understand, the old timers say it used to kick in around 1 PM. Thats why the races start at Two. But nowadays, if you dont sail in the evening; you may not be sailing very much.

If you compare this pages photos with those from April you can see how many more boats are in the water now that summer is in full swing.
I like to tour all the floating real estate in my bay. Last weekend, one boat kept landing and launching its helicopter every 10 minutes or so. OK. I get it; your rich, you have a big boat, and a helicopter you can launch from you boat. Ive never actually seen the rumored owner use the boat. Its always at the dock.
I do see the crew, every day; meticulously cleaning and polishing everything. Well I guess the owner is working to pay for his yacht.
