Quotes--slant expressions & insights (page 2) p1 by Nathan Coppedge "Within is without"--circa 2004 This could be interpreted in a number of ways. It could mean that "souls travel", or that there is a quality to the inside-out that is not crazy because it is the way of things--and even that because the mind naturally looks at itself, it is counterproductive to intentionally do so, because intent is associated with being-in-the-world. Or it could mean that the void, the place of freedom, rests within our minds, or that essentially only surfaces have articulate meaning-- because from some standpoint anything is a surface. It is also a last- ditch method for finding new perspectives: if "Within" is our identity, and "Without" is our world and circumstances, we can say "I am not angry, the world is angry with me" or "The power of war is within me, and I am not hurt; what war is this?". "A garment for the shadow fits the man. And the mirror is where the mask began"--Circa 2005 Here I am attempting to make a transformational inference between the man who reflects and the man who has identity. "The one hole in the womb preceded my two eyes or is there one eternal bloom that lives when number dies?" --Circa 2005 There is an ultimate rationality to the world, evident in the unimpeachable manifestation of consciousness. If the eyes, which represent consciousness, are not the first number, then power rests in something more primal. And if eyes are the second number, then perhaps there is an "eternal bloom" of numbers, each its own marvelous creature. And if we see that infinity too is such a creature, we have described a circle. For every circle there is at least one other system, therefore I can rationalize that there is an eternal bloom beyond numbers, and conceivably beyond time. "The amelioration of jagged potencies is really the second center" --The Unity Project (still developing), Circa 2005 Note on Nathan's philosophy: some stylistic similarities to Heideggar, but it adopts a more theosophic/idealist systematization, and is at the same time iterative--part theory of mind and part experiential metaphysics (not to be confused with existentialism). (meta-extential). "People forget that there might be an ethics of destruction; be exhilerated by the sensation of reconceiving the most fundamental truths; Dare to have feelings where others have long conceded that nothing new could be ascribed or adducedbe free to revel in the vorticism, the ebb and flow that may never fail to carry us forward but which may afterall bring harm or an end to our heartsaccept the precious form of the moment, reconcile yourself with this momentous momentum, concede to your own strength, be strong in your acceptance of weakness; let your weakness be your calling sign; divine integrity and purport: find reason to accept the singularity, as though it were written in stone." July 8 or 9, 2005 An ethic always corresponds with an identity, and an identity is often defined by actions. Thus an ethic of destruction is only for those whose identity is destroyer. I'm trying to draw an analogy against relativism; to conceive of what the right good must be, we may first have to consider what the right evil must be. Everything that is almost right is surrounded by things that do less well. This is my attempt to offer advice to those who wish to create meaning--essentially, revel in your creative power, even if it seems like a criminal act. Assuredly others will find life in it. The confidence to create meaning can seem impossible or crazy. You have to break your own laws to conceive of something different. Your reason is as strong whether or not you use its power. To not use its power is to presume that it is serving its purpose. But there are other minds out there in the world; one must act with one's given power to uncover the more enduring laws.
