Early poetry of Nathan Coppedge

MIRROR
The mirror seeks a mind alone
the shadow follows only you
the eyes are filled with falling snow.
Mirrors shiver over what
the shadows fill how quickly what
the eyes may not have known.

A mirror speaks but to the tone
a shadow fills beneath the voice
a pair of eyes may quickly show.
Mirrors only flow beneath
the shadows set in high relief
the way our eyes are drowned.
