| Investigations Is wit unwitted a wit? Yes? To give so much value to wit that it could not be unwitted seems unfair. Perhaps if it were capitalized "Wit" such as uncorruptible or absolute wit, then we would think unwitting would be inappropriate or even impossible. Or we might say that unwit is a kind of wit, but that's just a twisting of words. Maybe if we are considering wit as only the measurement of wit; that someone scores some points with wit but could not be considered "witty". Or maybe we mean ironically... But all of this is water under the bridge, because the other solution is simpler. BACK to the question of wit |
