| Advent: Before You Begin | ||||
| A collection of thoughts leading me somewhere. I am stitching my writing together so that the patchwork takes the shape of a personal myth, that strengthens my resolve to live life fully, by reason, hope, and love. Because I seem to myself often weak, I am using the strong medicine of preexisting myths to strengthen the bond I have to unbreakable symbols that I hope to guide me in this life. The patchwork of stories that I touch on will grow so that greater and greater patterns are born, so that I can relive and relearn what might be forgotten, and keep those things I treasure, as objects of my mind. The act of creating and envisioning this story I intend to be also a searching for powers of love and of language that will protect me as I undergo the trials of the world and of the spirit. By building this thing here I mean to invite stray or curious beings to take part in the mysteries of the art that I have yet uncovered, and join in the strength that comes of well-intentioned work for the wholesome qualities of self-searching, using available methods. The incipience of character here becomes the incipience of thoughts, especially thoughts about where and what and if, except it begins maybe in a canvas, or a darkened theatre, or a cave, and by taking fearful steps, becomes brighter, of itself, until it is a world of its own, and then it can decide to venture further. To Begin. . . |
