Advent: The Old Man's Song
I will not lilt a song un
                        fulfilled
fold into my dreams;
only
once I have made myself
                             heard
will I sing

ebony and alabaster
sconces and dissonance
the apple and my bite
go two and two

or o for oppressed
to give to gabble for
adore
thy last sweet consciousness

take it under, that great whale
which fills and pricks
this final wall
where I am list
less all this canterwall
give less of eve
and let the dark withall

fair eve
set this mind right
tell all things
their broken wings
tell all night
how it is brought

give it for
the blessed wall
give it over
with this last dissolve
let it give a cast

to show of all this last
last last o canterwall
