Here are a few of my favorites:



Milk and Honey Bread

  • Bake 325�
  • 1 hr or less

    1 cup of Milk
    1 cup Milk
    2/3 cup Honey
    � cup Butter
    2 Eggs
    1� cups white Flour
    1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
    1 TBS Baking Powder
    1 tsp Salt
    � cup Wheat Germ
    1 cup Nuts (any)

    Heat milk and honey together until the honey is dissolved (may curdle don�t worry). then stir in butter. When the milk and honey mixture is somewhat cooled beat in eggs.

    Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Add wheat germ, and gradually stir dry ingredients into liquid. Stir in walnuts. Mix well and turn into buttered loaf pan.

    Salad Dressing Cake

  • Bake 350�
  • 30 min

    � cup 1� cups Sugar
    � cup 1 cup Mayo(Miracle Whip)
    1 cup 2 cups Flour
    1� TBS 3 TBS Cocoa
    � tsp 1 tsp Vanilla
    1 tsp 2 tsp Baking Soda
    � cup 1 cup Warm Water
    � tsp � tsp Salt

    Mix together and beat hard put in 13x9 greased and floured pan

    Streusel Filled Coffee Cake

  • Bake 375�
  • 40 Min

    Coffee Cake
    1� cups Flour
    3 tsp Baking Powder
    � tsp Salt
    1 cup of Sugar
    � cup liquid Oil
    1 Egg
    � cup Milk

    Filling 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
    4 tsp Cinnamon
    4 TBS Flour
    4 Tbs melted Butter

    Sift dry ingredients together, add shortening, blend in well add beaten egg and mix with milk.

    Mix with spoon. Put in well greased and floured pan

    Mix filling ingredients together and spread over above mixture can be mix (swirled with spoon)

    Brownies

  • Bake 350�
  • 30 to 35 Minutes

    Melt together over hot water:
    2 sq unsweetened Chocolate
    1/3 cup Shortening**

    BEAT IN: 1 cup Sugar
    2 Eggs

    SIFT TOGETHER AND STIR IN:
    � cup Flour
    � tsp Baking Powder
    � tsp Salt

    MIX IN:
    � cup broken Nuts
    **1 sq unsweetened Chocolate (1oz.) substitute 3 TBS cocoa plus � tsp shortening

    Spread in well greased 8� square pan. Bake until top has a dull crust. A slight imprint will be left in top when touched lighlty with finger.

    ICING Melt over hot water :
    1 TBS butter
    1 sq unsweetened Chocolate**

    Blend in:
    1� TBS warm Water

    Stir and beat in:
    1 cup Powdered Sugar

    Eggless, Milkless, Butterless Cake (Spice)

  • Bake 350�
  • 30 Minutes

    2 cups Raisins*
    1 cup of Sugar
    1 cup Water
    � cup Shortening
    2 cups Flour
    1 tsp Baking Powder
    � tsp Salt
    1 tsp Cinnamon
    1 tsp Nutmeg
    � tsp Cloves
    1 tsp Soda
    1 TBS Boiling Water

    Mix raisins, sugar, water and boil for 3 minutes. Add shortening. When cool add flour,baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Add soda disolved into boiling water. Bake in greased loaf pan.
    *Raisins can be left out.

    ICING

    I melt about 2 TBS butter and powdered sugar and milk with almond flavoring and dribble over top.

    MIX IN:
    � cup broken Nuts
    I call it Eggless Cake is a wonderful and quick spice cake. I never make it with raisins.It was a favorite of all.
