If anyone and any idea ever gave the Church and theology a headache it was Darwin. Finding out we weren’t the center of the universe was bad enough. Almost a kiss of death for the church. Almost, but not quite! But when we discovered life might have evolved?! WOW!!!!!!!!! The Bible was on its knees and the Vatican declared a war it could never win. But of course, with Creationism, it is still trying/hoping! Evolution is a load for the church which becomes heavier and heavier with each new discovered fossil of some creature we know Noah could never have placed on his all too small boat. Life forms like the T-rex which he would have ran from before becoming a meal himself. Anyway, couldn't the flood have been local to his part of the world? What did he know about the true size of the world anyway? So what happened to Genesis? Two animals of every kind? Blowing dust from his nostrils? Eve from a rib? Where is the T-Rex please? Either the fossils told the truth or the Bible did? Right? Maybe not! Its assumed God wanted us to know the truth about him in our beginning. Maybe he didn’t trust us with the knowledge of him being inside us? Just think of the way he over-reacted with Moses when he made the mistake of identifying himself too close to God? Evolution blew religion away for two reasons. First it told us the Bible was wrong about our biological origins. So the Bible was wrong about something. The Divinely inspired book was supposed to be fool-proof, wasn’t it?! Worse yet, far worst! Life didn’t seem to have a purpose at all! With Darwin, even the biological process up the evolution ladder was a result of fittest surviving, NOT ANY DIRECTION for life. Life was callous, crude, cold, and without purpose. Once you died, you DIED!!!!!!!! The Bible was a fairy tale at best! BUT has Darwin’s idea have any inherent problems? Yes, I think it does! Something everybody over-looks! It is what I call the Beauty Problem. But I bet you never heard of it. Nobody else seemed to think of it. Wonder why? It is simple enough. DARWIN’S BEAUTY PROBLEM
