Nepal
2 days before the trip 27/11/02
It has been a hard time for me in recent few days. I am going to Napel on 30/11/02.
However the situations there is not that stable. There was local Moaist action
against the government. I remembered that at first I was not quite sure if I
should go to Nepal if just only me and Doris (2 girls) , I prayed to God, and
now I cant imagine that Elkin and her wife, Ellen, are going with us. I wanna
go there to appreciate the marvellous nature that God created on earth¡KBut Doris¡¦
father¡¦s friend told her that the transport to Pokhara was recently closed and
some people got stuck in the airport¡Kand Monica¡¦s friend was kept shut in the
Hotel in Pokhara for 7 days somedays ago because of the Moaist action. After
hearing these, my heart sinked¡K(though later Doris reconfirmed with her father¡¦s
friend that the situation in recent 2 weeks are ok and the transport returned
normal and that the Napel Embassador in HK also said there is nothing big going
on in Nepal) because I have arranged the holiday, airtickets, hotel and these
are non-refundable, no-reroutable and non- reschdedulable. I really want to
go. On the other ha.nd, I am worried about our safety should we insisted to
go.
I talked to a friend, she suggested me to pray to God and asked
for signs to BLOCK my way should it be His intention for my safety e.g. airport
close or family strongly against the trip etc. She told me to prepare for alternative
routes and gather more information about the China Embassador in Nepal. She
encouraged me to be grateful to whatever God¡¦s arrangement because if something
happen and the trip need to be cancelled, He must got a reason. I felt much
better and more relieved. I prayed very seriously to God for His will¡Kand I
have asked whoever could to pray for me.
These recent 2 days I could not concentrate on my studies, I hoped I could catch
up when I am back.
Day of return 9/12/2002
I return to HK safely today and full of joy for this trip is smooth and safe, God's watching over me and listened to me and my friends¡¦s prayers. In this trip I could see the beautiful nature as well as we got along very happily with lots of laughters and moments to treasure. God is so great, the fear turned out to be a great experience.
