Marathon

8/2/2004

Today I joined the Standard Charter half marathon and completed in 2hr 26 mins. When I was running, I kept reminding myself ¡§I am running for myself" I want to proof that I have the willpower to finish the race after recovered from SARS. It was absolutely a great challenge to one¡¦s perserverance. I did not stop or walk , I ran for the whole journey.
The muscle ached and it was really cold today ( 8 degrees plus raining), but I was glad that physically and mentally I was strong enough to acheive. When you run on an unfamiliar route, the feeling is very exciting yet frustrating, as you don¡¦t know whether the next part will be upslope or downslope, you don¡¦t know when will be the turning point, just like what life can be.

I started to run when I was doing my internship because at that time there was a lot of stress and anger...those emotions were put off my mind when I run...But nowadays I run for my health.
