The women's baseball training begins- aiming to prepare for the world tournament II in Taiwan Aug 06. Baseball practice became very serious, we need to hand in homework !
11/10/05 Ling feng Stream hiking
The first hiking with my bible study group-mates etc. I brought total 15 friends
to the trip making up a total of 26 in the trip.
I am proud of my U-mates that they can finish that as they were green to river
trekking (despite they got multiple bruises and abrasions). I like the sense
of adventure, when we passed the narrow squared shaped path in the shades of
woods, it's really exciting and very adventrous.
The water is at low level and not very moving, so the swimming is not that enjoyable.
But anyway it's good to play under the fall.
12/10/05 Last water-skiing this year
I can be steady when there are waves, I can ski out the waves on the right side,
I can lean on the water and play with one arm, I can change the wakeboard front
and back.
14/10/05 Working like a dog
Today was Friday which should be quite free, but since a patient pulled out
his dual lumen haemodialysis catheter, I had to reinsert it in 10A. There was
difficulty in stopping the bleeding and I stand there applying pressure, adrenaline
gauze, iv DDAVP etc¡Kstill couldnt stop it. The nurses asked me to take a rest.
When I was back, the bleeding was stopped by the nurses!! Crazy! Another thing
was that I had to perform therapeutic abd tapping for a 8A ENT patient as a
consultation! I feel like that I was just like a house officer, doing procedures
all day.
In the afternoon, I managed to squeeze time to attend the EMM teaching at G/F
OPD. I also attached colonoscopy from 3-4pm. After back to 5C, a patient got
PRB and deteriorated. What a busy day!
After off work, I dinned with a friend, a teammate in seconday school. We were once very close. It's been such a nice time when I could share with her my thoughts and my furstrations. When I walked back home after got off the bus, my mood was so good and my mind filled with happy melodies. After a hard day's work, it so nice and refreshed to meet a friend whom I like and miss so much...It's such a blessing!

16/10/05 Thoughts - patient's and relatives
Havent been MO3 on Sunday for a long time¡Kit nearly killed me. Too much admissions that I hardly had any spare time. 2 patients died and 3 patients DAMA.
One of the patient's adopted daughter went to disneyland and not able to make it earlier to meet her father in the last moment. I mistaken that she lingered in disneyland for fun. When she arrived, I overheard her conversation and knew that she's been the volunteer to bring the mentally retarded children to disneyland, so she could not abandon the children and go to hospital right away. When I broke the bad news to her, she held my hand and at the end of the interview she asked me to pray for her. I agreed. She then asked me to pray for her NOW. I was not well prepared, and the corridor is not private enough. When I walked back to the call room, I prayed for the lady and may God forgive me and hear my prayer.
Another one was a mother of a bedbound young man who got deforming spondylitis admitted for diarrhoea. The AED notes wrote down ¡§patient's mother cried and talked about that she cant take care of him when he's having diarrhoea¡¨ I did not interact with that mother, but I heard that the nurses called potter to help to bring down her to the taxi station since this rather old lady had difficulty to get back home. I could not imagine this old lady, not very smart at tall and could not take care of herself very independently but she needs to take care of her son who's bedbound. Nothing is more respectable then the love of parents. I solute her.
30/10/03 Sunrise
Hiking -to see sunrise in Lantau Peak. It's misty and the sunrise cant be seen
as expected. But I enjoyed the fun during the process.
