Despite after back from the Yunnan trip, hang- over effect of a great holiday lingers on.

"I can't stop thinking and talking about my wonderful holiday of a lifetime! Everyone at work is so eager to find out how I got on, and hear all about the stories of trekking down the Yangtze river, visiting Shangri-La, going to a Buddhist temple, the chicken's head (ha ha). Being back in the UK has made me all the more astounded at all the things I have seen and experienced. I was so moved by this holiday, and feel so privileged to have been able to visit paces in China so few westerners are able to, unless they speak the language. Having this holiday was one of the best things I have EVER done, and I don't regret a single moment of it - even the toilets! It all adds to the wonderful richness of the experience. And to be able to do this with you Veronica, made it extra special...My family are astounded at where I have been and the experiences I have had, and can't believe some of the photos, like the women dressed in tribal dress, etc."

It's my pleasure and privilege to explore China with u, since the cultures been so different from the one you brought up with, it definitely will imprint in your mind...just like how Macro Polo was impressed when he travelled to China centuries ago.
I got more adjusted to work this week and today my boss said I was quick to learn and pick up the routines...so dont worry, i will be ok. For baseball...well a good news as well, i just had another match in the summer league last sunday, despite we lost 14:15, we had a great game and I had made a 3-base hit, the most beautiful hit among all players in the game [at least that's what i think] ...

22/8/05 20mins a chest drain

On call day
I used 20 mins to admit a patient with pneumothorax plus chest drain insertion at 230am…that's really speedy and I could not imagine things went so smooth as well as I was so efficient. Tonight, when the other nurse asked me to come to 4B for signing phone orders and lab results, another nurse spoke on the phone saying "there were chicken wings as well…” …so sweet.

It's about time for me to leave ward 14B...after 2 months experience. I enjoyed working in that...have never been so good relationship with the nursing colleagues before. I feel much more happy when I go to work in recent month. Perhaps I made some friends here who were so friendly and funny and the chemistry dissolved the previous isolated feelings.

28/8/2005 Ski! Sunshine heals
I went to a boat-trip today with secondary schoolmates today in Sai-Kung. I was so happy today since I finally could ski on the wakeboard for quite a while and be able to sustain a turn in direction, that's really exciting...I learned to ski on a wakeboard 2 years ago for about 30 mins but at that timet I could only keep myself on the water surface for 10 sec or so.
I struggled if I should go for the boat-trip this morning since I had not completely recovered from the cold, but then my illness seemed recovered after I swan under the sun.
