| (Shego appears with the rest of the Middletonites.) Shego: Well, we don't. Drakken: The choice is yours, SSS. Either step down or fight. SSS: Oh, must it all end in violence? I'd hate to be responsible for the death of a friend. Wouldn't you agree, Drakken? Drakken: That's not gonna work, Sr. I've put it behind me. SSS: Eh, but what about your allies? Have they put it behind them? Shego: Drakken, what is he talking about? SSS: (Delighted) Ahh, so you haven't told them your little secret. Well, Drakken, now's your chance to tell them. Tell them who was responsible for Kim's near death! (SSS's last line causes the Middletonites to start. All are concentrating on Drakken.) Drakken: (Steeling himself, then taking a step forward) I am. (Monique approaches.) Monique: (With much grief) It's not true. Tell me it's not true. Drakken: (Regretfully) It's true. SSS: You see! He admits it! Murderer! (Lightning crashes behind SSS's head to punctuate the line.) Drakken: No. It was an accident. (SSS walks around and around Drakken as he accuses him; very nicely done animated rotation.) SSS: If it weren't for you, Kim wouldn't have gone through that. It's your fault she nearly died; do you deny it? Drakken: No. SSS: (Severely) Then... you're... guilty. Drakken: No. I'm not a murderer. SSS: Oh, Drakken, you're in trouble again. But this time, Kimmy isn't here to save you. And now EVERYONE.. KNOWS... WHY! (SSS has been backing Drakken up the length of a cliff. After his last sentence, Drakken slips over the edge and is clinging to the ledge by his hands. Lightning strikes below, igniting a fire.) Kim: Drakken! Drakken: Kim?! |
