Here are some pics from the latest trip and the damage after the storm...

Dancing on deck
Melanie and Kate (waving from the front hatch) giving the local  paddlewheeler a good wave and being welcomed by the tourist to Ft. Myers after a very fun trip. An hour later we would be tied to the dock.
Dead trees along the canal West of Lake Okeechobee
A great time had by all! We arrived in Ft. Myers 3 days after leaving Stuart. The girls and I thought it was the best trip ever! If I can convince them, I'll put excerpts of their journals on the site to give a glimpse of their perspective. The girls stayed and played with their cousins Leighanne, Jackie, Greer, Alexa and Makenzie.  Looking forward to the next trip, but because of the storm damage, I don't know when that will be. I'll have pics of the boat damage posted soon.
Well, here they are... posted 4/26/04
A real mess (above), the twisted roller furler (upper right), the gouge and scrapes  (middle and lower  right),  the mast cut in sections for transport home... Click the pics below... shows the boat prepped and ready to paint.
7/25/04 - Just returned from Ft. Myers, the boat is coming along at Ft. Myers Yacht and Ship. They finished the paint job and other repairs. The paint job looks great. The mast was also delivered on Friday and I got the rig up yesterday. Everything went well but boy was it hot... too hot to work for long without a break. I should be back in the water soon.
She's almost ready to go....
Paint & graphics on & bottom painted...7/04
Rig is up and roller furling installed, just need the sails on and lines run aft to complete the process....
Leaving (escaping) Ft. Myers in the company of the shrimp fleet (far left).  Then it was time to tie up with the others at LaBelle City Dock. No damage to any of the boats here. Making my way back and caught in Lake Okeechobee by this powerful storm. Click to enlarge the pics.
Had to hurry out of the Ft. Myers area.... Hurricane Gharlie was bearing down fast! 8/11/04
