12/13/03  Jon Gray has officially left the folds of Rock Bottom. As for the remainder of Rock Bottom, we are going to take a two month hiatus with hopes of retooling our set list with new material. If all goes well, we'll be back in March with some new tunes. Thanks to the supporters of Rock Bottom for hanging in there with us all of these years.

8/23/03
A very unusual night at Strohms in Shelby. We typically have very little in the way of a crowd at the beginning, but a great crowd at the end. It was the complete opposite this time! Many thanks to the Rock Bottom supporters who made it out and hung out all evening with us! Also we were very sad to hear of Jackies' departure from Strohms-she will be missed!

8/9/03
What we thought was going to be a bust at Bullshooters in Ashland, turned out to be a pretty good night. Despite the many musical choices in the area, we had a great turnout and a partying crowd! We'll be be back in October!

8/2/03
A big thanks to Tim Opie of Wildcard for asking us to play with them at the Shelby Moose Hog Roast. With many other weekend events going on,  the turnout wasn't huge but we still had a great time. Also performing with us that evening is a relatively new band called Hard Days Follow. This plays a mixture of new and old rock and roll and did a great job!

7/18/03
We had an impromptu booking Friday evening at a private club in Plymouth and had a crazy good time! Tim Opie from Wildcard filled for the missing Jon and Des, and we of course dubbed ourselves as Wild Bottom! A big thanks to the Wildcard and Rock Bottom troops alike for supporting us! It was cool! We may even get a trip to the Virgin Islands out of it. Right!

7/11-7/12/03
An absolutely fantastic weekend at The Den! Despite the draw of three local festivals, The Den was jammin' on Friday and we played to a full house. We also had a few onstage visitors, both falling gracefully over the monitors onto their "captains' quarters"! We promptly ordered a round of what they were drinking... Saturday got off to an extremely slow start. At 10:20, their was only one table full. And that's because we were sitting there. But within an hour, The Den was full, and we played to another great crowd.

6/7/03
We played a reception for some good friends of ours in Columbus on Saturday, and what a blast it was! They really threw one hell of a party, great food and plenty of cold beverages on hand! Definately worth the drive to have that much fun. Further congratulations to Roy and Corina, we wish them the best of luck!

5/17/03
Another fun weekend at The Den in Mansfield! Friday night was a blast with a packed club and plenty of those in attendance ready to party! Saturday night took on a bit of a different vibe for two reasons. We were competing with the Chili Cook Off at Snow Trails, and additionally, Jon wound up on the injured reserve list with strained vocal cords! I think that's what he said, he was kind of hard to hear... Despite those things, we still had a great night and got by with a little help from one of our musical friends Bill Hatheway from the Back On Earth band who jumped in for a handful of songs with us. A big thanks to the staff of The Den for always making us feel welcome! We'll be back at The Den in July!

5/3/03
Well, as Gomer Pyle would say, "Surprise, surprise, surprise!" We had a blast at Bullshooters in Ashland on Saturday! Clubs are just like people, they're all different and you just don't know what you're going to get sometimes. But, the place was ready to rock and roll and so were we! We really had a great time and we'd like to give a big Rock Bottom salute to the couple that drove all the way from Wooster to see us in Ashland! It is appreciated! We'll be back at Bullshooters in August!

4/19/03
Slam Jam 3 at Strohms in Shelby was yet another success! Once again we shared the stage with our musical brothers Wildcard which included another rare appearance of "Wild Bottom" at the end of the night! Despite the holiday weekend, we had a great crowd and everyone was ready to rock-n-roll. A big thanks to Wildcard for again providing lights, sound and equipment.

4/12/03
Sandals once again turned out to be a blast! The crowd was ready to party and so was I as it turned out! There were many friends old and new in attendance for the shin-dig and we would like to send a big 'ole Rock Bottom salute out the the "Columbus Crew" for making the trip up! (See you guys in June!) And don't forget, Slam Jam 3 with Wildcard is this weekend. So phone the neighbors, drop off the kids, put on any protective gear you may
have on hand, and get your partiyin' self down to Strohms on Saturday!
It will definitely be a good one!

3/29/03
As always-another rousing night at Strohms in Shelby! We also found out we will be doing another Slam Jam with Wildcard at Strohms in Shelby on April 19th! Don't miss it-these are a lot of fun!

3/8/03
I've said it before. You just don't know what you're going to get when you play a new club. This was our first booking (sight unseen) at Oscars in Wooster. I remember looking up during the second song of the night and seeing that all of the tables were empty. That was because they were all on the dance floor! This truly set the tone for the evening. The place was packed from the beginning and there were so many patrons of the female persuasion, we thought we had stumbled upon the Land Of Beautiful Women! David Lee Roth would have had no problem finding that "Beautiful Girl" that he so desparately needed! We've not seen a crowd this ready to Rock-N-Roll in a long time. This was indeed a five star party! And making the night even better, we had a liitle help from some of our friends, old and new! Tim and Bill Opie of Wildcard sat in on a few tunes and our new friend Kelly did some soulful dueting with Jon on a few ballads! A big the thanks to Chuck (The Nite Owl!) for turning us on to Oscars! We'll be back soon!

3/1/03
Well, after nearly a month off, we played a two nighter at The Den in Mansfield. Tim Opie from Wildcard filled in for Larry on Friday night as Larry was just returning from a month long trip. Additionally, Wildcard provided sound for the weekend which was cool as Bill Opie is certainly one of the best sound guys around! The patrons of The Den had the opportunity to hear both bands over the weekend with both nights being jam packed! The Den has a great crowd! Also, a big Rock Bottom salute to the staff of The Den. They had to work hard to keep all of those thirsty patrons in attendance happy.
We'll be back at The Den in May!

2/11/03
Although we have the majority of this month off, we will be playing at The Den in Mansfield on February 28th and March 1st. Tim Opie from the Wildcard band will be filling in for our missing comrade Larry on guitar.  Additionally, Wildcard will also be playing some music both nights as well. So come on out because this will be a great opportunitiy to hear both bands!

2/1/03
The Rock-N-Blues Fest was once again a huge success! Frank Medley of Getaway did a great job of organizing the event and kudos to Tim and Bill Opie of Wildcard who provided sound for the event and gave every band great sound! For all of you who were there, you know what a great time it was. We came around 2:30 and the place was already on it's way to being packed. Check the Getaway website for a recap of the day. Also additional thanks to Tim Opie for filling for our missing comrade Larry. Tim will also be filling in at The Den bookings on February 28th and March 1st as Larry will not be back until that weekend. Wildcard will also be doing a guest appearance both evenings at The Den, so come on out and party with us!

1/31/03 I don't think many people know this, but Rock Bottom is a franchise band. We've added a page to the website with links to our Rock Bottom brethren. You can find the Team Rock Bottom page here!
