Tortilla Pie

1 pound hamburger
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can (8 oz) tomatoe sauce
1 can sliced ripe olives, drained
1 Tbls chili powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 pkg corn tortillas, buttered
2 cups shredded cheese
1/2 cup water

Brown meat; drain and add onions and garlic. Cook until onions are soft. Add tomatoe sauce, olives, chili powder, salt, and pepper. In a 2-quart casserole dish alternate layers of tortilla, meatsauce, and cheese. Sprinkle 1/2 cup shredded cheese on top. Pour 1/2 cup water at edge of casserole into bottom. Bake covered at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove cover and allow to stand 5 minutes before cutting into wedges. Serves 4 to 6.
