Before coming to Lincoln School in 2006, Randall worked for Componentes Intel de Costa Rica and Intel Corporation as training coordinator, corporate trainer and administrative assistant for approximately 6 years attending training sessions as well as developing and implementing projects and new technologies in Costa Rica, USA and Malaysia. In addition, Randall worked for ULACIT (Universidad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnología) as a professor in charge of several English courses attended by both undergraduate and graduate students (2002 - 2007). He also served for 2 years as English department coordinator and English teacher at Santa Cecilia High School and elementary school teacher at Platanares Elementary School in Moravia, Costa Rica, working for the PROLED program sponsored by the Ministry of Public Education (MEP). From 1995 until 1997, he worked as music teacher at Nuestra Señora de Lourdes High/Elementary School and English Instructor at INTEC College. Randall studied music for 5 years at the UCR School of Music where he completed the elementary stage (12 levels in classical percussion/drums and theory) and played with the UCR Jazz Ensemble (3 years), UCR Symphony Orchestra (5 years), and several rock bands and chamber music ensembles, among others. For different reasons and obligations, he lived in Arizona and Oregon, USA and has traveled extensively to several places around the world. Randall has some other diverse professional interests including music and has not only taught language skills from beginning to advanced, but has also taught music (drums) at different levels as well as basic stuff by using computer software. When not teaching, Mr. Torres likes to play music with some friends, play new rhythms on the drumset and rudiments on the practice pad, read many different books and articles, go out, watch movies, travel with his wife and son, ride his bike, play chess and pool with his parents and brothers and listen to a lot of music. Randall also has a strong sense of family. His wife and his son, ("the real accomplishments in my life"), are his backbone. Randall sums it all up in a nutshell by stating: "...God has blessed me a lot, and I owe Him the glory and honor in everything I do..." |
