Private Jets used to be something I studied all the time. I dreamed of buying when when I grew up, then thanks to my parents reality I found I'm probably more likely to timeshare one than to buy on. But now, its time for me to share my knowledge of these elusive jets. Now the basics: Private jets are split into my mind: interstate, intercontinental, and international. The interstates can carry about 2-8 passengers on average and can't go more than roughly 3000 nautical miles. Intercontinentals can go across the United States and across the Atlantic, they are about 3001-5000nm. The internationals can go over the Pacific Ocean, and beyond, they have a range of 5001-6000nm and on occasions over.

The Interstates: The main manufacturers for these kinds of planes are Raytheon ( A Guy from this company invented radar, and the microwave oven.), Cessna, and the Learjet models made my Bombardier. There are also a few others like Maverick Air, Sino Swearign, Eclipse, and Gulfstream. There is also one manufacturer from Europe: Fairchild Dornier. Raytheons: The jets they manufacture are the Premier, Hawker 800, and the Beechjet 400. Premier: This is the smallest jet out of the Raytheon company. It can carry about 6 passengers and up to 2 crew members. It only has a range of 1,500nm, and I would say isn't the best jet out there, its just convenient to let you go to any few states at any time. The price tag for this is about $5 million. Hawker 800: The largest interstate made by this company. It has a pretty nice cabin that can seat up to 14 passengers. It requires a flight crew of 2, and the price I'm guessing is about 8-12 million. Lastly, it has a range of 2,280nm. Beechjet 400: A combination of both of the previous in range and size. It has a range of 1,575nm, and a usual capacity of 8 passengers, and a crew of 2. I have no idea what the price for this is, but guess around 4-8 million.

Cessnas: They have tons of models that are great for this kind of range. And they are the Citation: One, Two, Three, Four, Bravo, CJ1, CJ2, Five, Six, Ultra, Encore, Excel and Soverign. ( Yes there is still a model left thats not in this class.) Now in a nutshell all the jets are in the same range as said above, the biggest one is the Soverign, and the smallest CJ1. Prices here range from 2 million to about 10 million bucks. They also range from carring 6/7 pax. to 12 in the Soverign.

Bombardier/Learjet: Learjet was founded by Bill Lear in the 60s. He pioneered the concept of a private jet. He ended up going bankrupt, and sold his company to a tire company. Over the years his company was bought and sold 3 times, the last buying was the Canadian company Bombardier, in 1992. From there they have built 4 new models, all of them really popular. They are the Learjet 31s, 45s, 55s, and 60. The price for any one of these 4 jets should vary from about 12 mil. to 20mil. 31/45s: They were the first ones to come out. The 31 is one of the fastest selling ones. The 45 is also the largest in the Learjet family. They have a range of 2,380nm. They can hold (The Learjet 45) a max of 9 passengers. 55/60s: The 60 is the latest model to come out. It has seating for 6-9 passengers, and it needs a flight crew of 2. It has a range of 2,735nm.
