Charity Shield 2004
The Drumaheagles Charity Shield is now an annual event in the Lodge & Band calender.

Drumaheagles LOL 1099 were out for revenge this year and had hoped to improve somewhat on the previous performances!

Several "new" signings have been made in the off season and the football team and Lodge ranks have been swollen with new brethren.

Unfortunately due to several of our Key Players being involved in a local Cup final we were not up to full strength.

Drumaheagles LOL 1099 were narrowly beaten by Drumaheagles Young Defenders Flute Band 4-3 on Saturday 10th July 2004 - well there is always another year!
Great Day for Charity (not for Football)
The 2002 Drumaheagles Charity Shield
On Monday 3rd June 2002 Drumaheagles Young Defenders Flute Band met Drumaheagles Loyal Orange Lodge 1099 at Fulton Park Playing Fields, Balnamore, Ballymoney.

Football may not have been in the "Premier League" style but there was a committed performance from both teams.

The event was organised as a friendly between the Lodge and Band (several members of the Band are also Lodge members) to celebrate HM Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee.  We hoped to have a bit of fun and celebrate 50 years of Her Majesty as our most gracious Monarch.  Another benefit would be to generate some cash for a worthy charity which is not connected with the Orange Insitution. 2002 also being the silver Jubilee of Drumaheagles Young Defenders Flute Band.

The result was a 5-4 victory for the Band in a hotly contested 90 minutes.  The collection from Players and supporters resulted in 100 being raised for Greystones Childrens Home in County Dublin (the only Protestant and Independent Childrens home in the Republic of Ireland).
