Lughnasadh
In the Night skies of this Season, the Perseid Meteor showers dance in the Dark. They are still known as The Games of Lugh

The Thing, The Other, and What`s between, form the Magick Three, recognizing the too oft` ignored, yet crucial relationship between ostensible opposites. Inside and Outside meet at Thresholds, Earth and Sky meet at Mountain tops, Sea and Earth meet at Tide-Lines, New Year, and Old Year meet at Samhuin.
Any of these things, by bringing opposites into reconciliation, also represent the meeting place of our World, and the Magickal OtherWorld , and are therefore Sacred. A God who embodies the coming together of many different Realms and Energies, would be extraordinarily powerful, even in the company of other Dieties-
Such a God is Lugh.

His Foster-Mother Tailtiu, along with his Foster-Father Mannanan McLyr, the ruler of the OtherWorld Feast, raised Lugh after his Grandfather Balor of the Evil-Eye tried to put an end to his life, in order to prevent a Prophesy from unfolding-a Prophesy that his Grandson would not only put an end to his rule over the Tuatha De` Dannan, but an end to his Life as well. Balor sequesters his Daughter, Eithne, in a tower on the Isle of Glass, but Lughs` Father, Cian, with the help of the Druidess Biorog, rescues her. Lugh becomes War-Chief of the Tuatha De` Dannan, and along with Nuada of the Silver-Hand, defeats Balor and the Fomorians, wresting  the secrets of the Agricultural Cycle from his Dark Twin, Bres, for the People of Ireland.

Lughs` Foster-Mother Tailtiu died in the battle, but when the Men of Ireland gathered at her Death-Bed, she asked them to hold Funeral Games in her Honor-As long as they were held, she Prophesied, Ireland would not be without Song.
