OGHAM FOR DIVINATION
Ogham could be used as a means of divination.  As the Druids were masters of all kinds of divination (the fancy word for seeing the future), it is plausible that they used the Ogham for this purpose.  Remember that they inherited it from their forbears and that the use of Ogham for divinatory purposes is somewhat a more modern concept.  The Druids were specialists in ancient Celtic divination, and would look to more "natural" phenomena, such as the patterns of the flight of birds or the movements of the stars and planets.

In modern times, Ogham symbols are carved or otherwise inscribed into wood, stone, bone, metal, etc.  The diviner draws a number of the Oghams at random and tosses them before her to see where they symbols fall.  The closer the Oghams are to the diviner, the closer those events are in time.  The further out they fall, the further into the future they are.  Any symbols that touch each other are directly related.
