| The Druids are NOT responsible for building Stonehenge. Historical fact reveals that Stonehenge was actually already in place on the Salisbury Plain long before the Druids came into existence. It is also not true that the Druids are responsible for the construction of any of the standing dolmens, stone circles, or sacred cairns/passage graves that are found all throughout the Celtic lands. The Druids inherited these sacred sites when they came into the Celtic world. It is very likely that the knowledge about the sites was passed on to them, and they continued the practises of their predecessors in traditional fashion. They did NOT invent the Ogham alphabet script. Again, the existence of the Ogham alphabetical system was in place long before the arrival of the Druids. The Druids were the inheritors of it as well. It is plausible that the Druids could have used the Ogham for divinatory purposes, but since Druid tradition forbade the writing of anything of a sacred nature, the Ogham was probably not used for such intents. They have NOTHING to do with Atlantis, including the fact that they are NOT the lost tribe of the mythical island. My friend, if you firmly hold that the Druids and Atlantis are connected, get your head out of those stupid fantasy novels and allow me and my Celtic ancestors to usher you into the Real World! |
