Yahoo! I finally got a digital camera! Thank you, thank you Liana's mom! Not only that, but I've figured out how to upload pictures from my phone! I am so smart.
I spent part of the 2007 Labor Day weekend visiting with out-of-town relatives. I haven't seen my cousin Carrie in eons, and I've never met her younger daughter. Three-year-old Joey wasn't too sure what to make of me at first, but I did get a hug when I left.
Terry (Carrie's husband) and Joey's five-year-old sister, Addie, were kind enough to take time out from breakfast to pose for me. Joey didn't even realize she was in the picture until the last second.
Aunt Bess (Carrie's mom and my dad's sister), Carrie, Uncle Ray (Carrie's dad), Terry, and the two munchkins. We'd just finished breakfast and were preparing to go our seperate ways.
Liana's little niece loves to be read to. Maybe she'll grow up to be a librarian!
My mother is in the market for a new rug. Liana and I saw this specimen in the store and I snapped a photo with my trusty camera phone. Liana decided this would be a good way for "J-Mom" to get a feel for how big it was.
Auntie Liana instructing her neice on proper dental hygiene.
After my car accident, I pulled my car back into the driveway. Mom and I didn't realize that I was blocking her in as well. After much hemming and hawing, we came up with this solution. My mother was the one to insist on a photographic memory.
Mom seemed to get a big kick out of the whole "car-on-the-lawn" bit. I think she was trying to distract me from the "oh my God, I hit someone!" guilt I felt. She wants this to be my Christmas card image.
Liana and I spent 7/14/07 at the annual barndance. We were supposed to meet up with classmates from our 1997 HS reunion, but we only saw one other person. Oh well, we had fun, and the ticket money went to a great cause.
Giddyap, cowgirls! I'm showing off my newly "borrowed" handkerchief on our way out of the dance.

The $3,100 aftermath of my June 2007 "fender-bender." You should see the other guy. Really. All he had was a popped tire.
This is yours truly, the 2006 version. Liana brought her digital camera over and I liked this picture so much I bullied her until she put it on my computer. The 2007 version sports much shorter hair, courtesy of a library-related Locks of Love haircutting event last October.
We celebrated Labor Day 2003 at Cadillac Ranch in Bartlett. In this picture, Jeff (Monica's then-boyfriend, now husband) defies gravity and attempts to hump my best friend Liana's ankles. L-R Jeff, Liana, Sara's friend Sean, and Monica (friend of ours from EIU).
I was the photographer of the evening (as well as the DD). Our group, left-to-right: Dan (Bobby's ex-college roommate), Bobby (Liana's ex-boyfriend), Sara (Bobby's then-girlfriend and now fiance), Sean, Liana, and Angelo (Bobby's friend).
Jeff took this picture of the three of us at their apartment before we went to the bar. Liana was annoyed because her hair was still wet. At least no one was captured brushing teeth.
At Cadillac, they have elevated dance platforms for ladies to get their groove on. You can't tell from the photo, but they're about three-and-a-half feet off the ground. Monica and Liana didn't have any problems getting their grooves on. I don't think Sara was quite so thrilled. Secret: I was on the other side of Sara, but cropped myself out of the picture before putting it online.
Miss Monica sure knows how to pose for the camera!
Bobby gettin' it on with Monica and Sara. What a studmuffin!
LOL
We all graduated college in 2002, but some of us had to finish up our credits during summer semester. Here, we're on our way to the C-Street Bar in Champaign. Nobody told me it was gay-friendly bar. Definitely an eye-opener. L-R is Liana, her friend Jason, me, and Bobby. Jason had come down for the weekend, and since he wasn't 21 yet, we had to find a bar that allowed 19-year-olds in.
Bobby and I have a rather dysfunctional friendship. He calls me a twit and I call him a dork. I do enjoy his friendship though, not that I would ever tell him that.
Liana and me right before we went out on the town in Champaign.
Towards the end of the 1999-2000 school year, we discovered that we had a lot of food that we needed to get rid of before moving back home. Liana came up with the idea of a potluck dinner. L-R is Bobby, our suitemates Tara and MaryEllen, and myself. This was taken in our (the girls') suite by Liana.
My first semester down at EIU (Fall 99) we had a foreign exchange student named Geraldine from Belgium living in our suite. Through her I met a lot of different people, including her German friend, Eli (the one on the right). This was taken in Geraldine's room the night before she returned home.
I don't know how they did it, but Sara, Monica, and Liana convinced me to shake my groove thang on a dance box at Caddy. The really pathetic part? I did it sober!
The Fall '00 version of our 2J (our suite's number) crew: Derrice, MaryEllen, Tawana (Tara's sister, who was staying w/ us at the time), me, and Liana before we hit the bar (Stix, here we come!). Tara is taking the picture.
