Brent Spiner, better known as Data from Star Trek, has been approached by the producers of the upcoming Star Trek High TV series and is set to star in a big screen movie about the life of Data.

"I have always questioned what was going on with Data when he was born. Born meaning programed. But the writers have a great idea where Data was born as a baby and for each stage of his life, he is reprogramed into a newer, older body. Even with being programed again, he is able to regain memories of him in his previous body's.

But as it stands now. The film will be slightly different. For the better Spiner says.

"I said I didn't want to do that idea so they threw it out. Now, we have Data as an old man remembering all the times he had growing up. Less thinking, more emotion. We plan to begin shooting in August right as the new show starts and we expect the film to be done by 2006. We also snagged Kenny Loggins and Billy Joel to do the film score which is a plus as well.
