The American Association of Orthodontists recommend that all children receive an orthodontic evaluation by age 7.  Most of the time, no treatment needs to be rendered at this age, but occasionally early treatment can easily prevent developing problems and permit continued normal dental development.  Most frequently braces are placed once all the permanent teeth have come into the mouth, but we still recommend a screening at age 7 to catch any potential problems early.
