What is the furthest you've traveled from home?
To Aarhus, Denmark on a Fulbright Scholarship. It was so depressing that I never fell asleep there, drank a 2 liter Pepsi, and flew home to get a job instead.
It's a good story that is very long, involved, and amusing in a dark way.

What's the secret behind composing a piece?
Going over it again and again and again - and going back to it years later and going over it again and again and again. A compuser has to 'discover' the piece like an archeologist.

When did you pick up this love for playing the Organ, and did you play piano first?
When I was 4 my dad took me to a Moravian church in Penn. to see what it was like inside - a man was practicing the organ. We went up to the loft and the gentleman told me to press down a key - out came this quiet, low, profound sound. I was hooked. I didn't start piano until I was 15.
