When I decided to go abroad, Passing IELTS was a big breakthrough. However it was a great experience as there were so many things to learn. IELTS only require technique and practice.
There is no difference in certificate as for as Australian and British IELTS is concerned. However Australian are less sensitive as for as English is concerned, So my humble suggestion to u is to go for Australian IELTS.
Although u can appear in any city like Lahore, Multan, Peshawer, Karachi, However the best place is Islamabad. They are very cooperative and helpful. They have good facilities of sound system. Don’t go to Lahore British council, my perception is that even those who pass from Lahore always complaint that is no one is happy from them.
Good news:
Australian IELTS is available in Lahore at 24 E Zaman Park behind Aitichison school. They are providing preparatory classed as well. Take 2 photographs, original ID card, passport and a bank draft in the name of AEO Pakistan and two copies of each of these documents. Fill form and take ur date there and then.
Question is should u join academy or not. Its simple, attempt a test from any IELTS preparation book like Cambridge series. If u get >29 in reading
>33 in listening , u can easily communicate in English generally, and can talk on any given topic for one minute and some person is available to you to see ur writing who has passed exam, NO NEED. U CAN MAIL ME UR WRITING, I WILL DO THE WORK FOR U.
If ur answer is no to any of these Questions, Go for a academy.
They will charge u around 5000 Rs for 2 months. I think it is worth this preparation.
What do they check in IELTS
Ø Have a friend with u who is also appearing IELTS, practice with him.
Ø Questions at actual exam are almost exactly the same as given in Cambridge series books.

Thank you very much.
TASK 2:
1.Read passage carefully
2.Differentiate between the topic( this is usually the general statement given in the beginning) and the focus(this is usually the last sentence of question and could be a direct question like in my case:
‘’Some people suggest that university is mainly a place to provide skill and knowledge required at work place. Others insist that university should concentrate on teaching subjects and imparting knowledge generally. In ur opinion what r the main functions of a university.’’
3.Spend five minutes jotting down as many points as possible on question paper
4.chose best points and arrange them in a fashion of ‘ most important first then less important’.
5.start writing;
a. INTRODUCTION: two lines at most. 1st a general statement about the topic then what do u think of ‘focus’
b. BODY: 4 to 7 paragraph. One para one idea. First sentence of each para describing what u r going to say in that para, called a FOCUS sentence”. Then give 3 to 4 evidences in support of that para.
c. CONCLUSION: one or two sentences again writing ur opinion as
‘To sum up, in my opinion----‘
TASK I:
I have mentioned site about IELTS in this page. It’s very comprehensive. Rest u can see from there. I got a line graph in my exam.
Depending upon time of graph values, choose only simple present, past perfect or simple future tense to write ur task 1.
WHEN U SHOULD APPEAR IN IELTS:
As soon as possible. Its valid for 2 years and if u fail unfortunately, u can appear after 3 months. Best time is just after Final professional. Remember u have to take date at least 6 weeks before, however if seat is available, u may get an earlier date.
WHAT BAND IS REQUIRED FOR DOCTORS:
