Art is the visual interpretation of the subconscious. My work is to convey, visually, events in my life and the emotional state I had experienced at the time. I use a variety of mediums though my passion is photography. Composition, Lighting, and Depth are vital in my photography. With the few exceptions, I choose black and white over color and my reasoning for doing so is I believe with color, viewers become distracted and takes away from the image and meaning behind it. With the work that is present in my portfolio, I believe they hold the strongest emotion, and capture beauty in the alternative side to life. It�s slowing down life to an exact moment in history and can be viewed even as time continues. Tragedy and Beauty are the most common adjectives I hear about my work, and I consider them to be accurate when describing my work. Though, looking closer, one can see more than just those descriptions. There is an ongoing story with each piece and each is a page to describe the current events going on in the world. When my photography is being viewed, I hope the viewer is able to have an emotional reaction from my work, whether it is anger, sadness, or euphoric happiness. Having gone through a troubled time myself, I hope people are able to learn from my work, and see the possible results from their actions and do no act upon impulse. To me, art is abstract, and there is no accurate way to describe it. What art is for me though, Art is my therapy, my passion. It helps me get through the rough times. It�s being able to say your opinion without having to open your mouth. It�s an ongoing idea that is evolving, and helps shape tomorrow for the next generation.
