WELCOME TO ASUNCION!!!!!
Soon, this page will feature a collection of links describing life in Asuncion, Paraguay.  For the moment, here is a description of my previous home, written about 18 months ago...

On this page, I'd like to take you on a tour through my temporarily adopted home town of Sao Paulo, Brazil.  Sao Paulo is Brazil's (and South America's) largest city, with a population of around 18 million.  By some counts, it is the world's second-largest city, trailing only Mexico City.  It is the capital of the state of Sao Paulo, the  most populous and economically important of the Brazilian states.  It is located more or less in the southeastern part of the country, about 40 miles inland from the South Atlantic Ocean.

I live in a neighborhood called Cerqueira Cesar, a little to the west of downtown.  Cerqueira Cesar is a mix of high-rise apartments and small shops, and during the day is one of the busiest areas of the city.  We aren't far from Avenida Paulista and Avenida Nove de Julho, two of Sao Paulo's major thoroughfares, and Rua Augusta, which cuts right through our neighborhood, is a very busy commercial strip in its own right.

This page will consist of hundreds of links to items a person living in Cerqueira Cesar will encounter on a daily basis.  The emphasis is on those things I deal with in my daily life, and the stores, institutions, and such a foreigner living in this neighborhood would want to come to know.  Obviously, many of these links to go to city or country-wide websites, but of course, Cerqueira Cesar is not an island...  I've tried my best to organize these sites logically into categories.

BE WARNED ... MANY OF THESE SITES WILL BE IN THE
PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE ... SEEING AS THERE ARE 18 MILLION PEOPLE IN THIS CITY WHO SPEAK IT.
And let's start with Cerqueira Cesar's most notorious tenant...  It's just one block from my apartment.
