NEW!
Baby Drost #3
Due Date: July 14, 2008
Click here for some cute and funny sayings from the big brother and big sister.
Today, January 10, we heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time! It's such a fun sound to hear! It was beating about 150 beats per minute. Things are going well with the pregnancy, and Mom is happy to be feeling better most of the time. Andrew and Morgan got to hear the heartbeat, too. Although, they don't fully understand what is going on (not that we expect them to). Shortly before Christmas, one of Cori's friends asked Andrew if his mom was going to have another baby. He said, "Yes, in a few months. She is going to have Baby Jesus." The other day, Andrew said we were going to have another baby doll at our house. We anticipate many questions from him, some we might not be ready to answer! After hearing the heartbeat, Andrew asked, "Is the baby going to come out today?" Thankfully, that was an easy question to answer.
We had our ultrasound on March 4 and were excited to see a healthy baby! And, no, we did not find out what we are having, so we will all be surprised once again. Things have been going well. Cori is obviously showing now and people who aren't aware of our news have been noticing her growing belly. The baby has been moving and kicking quite a bit and more each day. Hopefully you can interpret the ultrasound photos below.
The baby's head is on the right and looking up. You can see a little nose and the abdomen to the left.
Here is a close up of the head with a little hand and arm up by the mouth. We wonder if this one will suck its two fingers like Andrew and Morgan.
This shows the baby facing down and you get a good view of the spine.
The countdown has begun ... if only we knew what day we were counting to! We are digging out all of our baby gear and tiny clothes. We also are officially mini-van owners now, as the cars aren't big enough for three kids. Yikes! It's the beginning of July, and Baby Drost #3 continues to do well. The heartbeat has ranged from 140 to 150 beats per minute. And Mom can tell by the baby's movements that he or she is getting stronger and running out of space. Andrew and Morgan are getting excited about having a baby. Andrew says he'll help change the baby's diaper and Morgan says she will rock the baby and teach it how to walk. Morgan also loves to read her "I'm a Big Sister Now" book. In fact, she practically has it memorized! One of them will be disappointed, because Andrew says the baby is a boy and Morgan says it is a girl. We'll see who is correct! We're looking foward to sharing some news in the next couple weeks!
