| Composing music is another important aspect in Christoph's musical career. He has been arranging and composing original music, mostly for the bagpipes since he was 13 years of age. Even though that he only has been taught to peoperly notate his composiitions in the mid 1990's, he already had a substantial collection of ideas and music piece structures. Over the years, and with growing music knowledge and performance experience, he refined his composing skills. The compositions reached a more complex and demanding level. His bagpipe music catalog has exceeded 50 finished and close to 16 work-in-progress pieces. Since 2006, Christoph has been experimenting, arranging and transposing bagpipe music in order to be able to collaborate with other musicians of different generes. Driven by the idea to create new, interesting music he is going a parallel route to the more traditional based bagpipe music and composes a more contemporary, experimental type of music. The ultimate goal is to fuse traditional music with modern concepts and a to break as many "golden" rules as possible. Music without boundries that matters. Further more and in addition to composing and sound desgin, Christoph is planing to expand his skills in the field of Film-Scoring and editing. hw will be involved in a student film project in the Spring of 2009 at Clemson University. Christoph is planing to publish his first collection of original bagpipe music compositions (traditional and contemporary) some time in late 2009/early 2010 through Altona Records. The book will also feature contributions by friends and musicians around the globe. In January 2009 Christoph became a member of BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) to protect with original compositions. BMI collects license fees on behalf of songwriters, composers and music publishers like Christoph . For more information go to www.bmi.com |
