	Kokukai is what is known as an Astral Mage/Fighter. He utilizes the energies from the Astral Plane, as well as his own spiritual energy (known as ki/chi), to power his seemingly-otherworldly powers. His main specialty attack is an orb, formed from a mixture of his ki and astral energies, that he calls the 'Dao Chin'. As a weapon, he used to carry a dragon tooth-headed spear, but now can form a sword-like extension of his ki, a weapon he calls a 'psyblade'. This weapon is capable of ripping through the hardest of metals as easily as a person moves through air. In addition to his other specialty attacks, he has learned how to focus his ki energies into, not only his hands, but also any weapons he holds in them. If the energy is used to charge up a weapon, and the weapon is then stabbed or slashed into the body of an opponent, the energy pours out into that person's body, then causing them to explode from within. If it is just his hands that are charged, and he touches an enemy, the result is a smaller, less violent, external explosion, merely causing intense burns, but can be used to, possibly, cause the loss of a limb. Kai (as he is known to his friends) is also able to physically transport himself to the Astral Realm. From there, he can then go to any other Realm that he chooses. Also while he is there, his already incredible power is multiplied by a thousand-fold by the free-roaming energies found on that plane. He is also able to take on the form and breath weapon of a black dragon (pic at right) that also has the magickal and natural abilities of a shadow dragon. This ability was once limited to being used in the Astral Plane, but now he has learned how to manifest it, and control it, here on the physical one. The size, as well as abilities, of this massive beast is equal to that of a dragon in the 'great wyrm' stage of life. However, using this form drains him terribly, making it necessary to only use it when in dire need. His normal, physical, appearance is as shown on the left, a six foot tall, black haired human male that has softly glowing, cobalt blue eyes. He is usually shirtless, several tattoos that cross his belly, back, and forearms showing. He is young, only 24 years old, to be so powerful, but, his upbringing is an unusual one. His parents were killed, along with the rest of the village, when he was barely more than a baby. In fact, as far as is known, he was the only survivor of that orc raid, which is where he draws his intense hatred for that race. He was found, and brought up, by a passing band of elves. They took him to their home village, where he learned their way of life, as well as his fighting skills. They also employed an elderly Astral Warrior to teach him how to utilize the same abilities as he did. Through this, he gained the status of Guardian of the Physical Plane, defending it from the ravages of those such as Kublicon. However, he recently defeated that menace, only to have it replaced by a new, darker, more evil threat. He is now the only remaining Guardian, the other four had been killed in battle with that Dark One. He, himself, was nearly killed in that encounter, saved only by pure luck. This has led him to try finding a new source of power, one different from the current source of his power: a mix of Light and Darkness...Shadow. When he first made himself known to the general populace, he met a woman by the name of Lilac Marshall, and subsequently fell in love with her. For a time, he split his time between living with her in her tavern known as "Chamber" and in a wooded grove where his actual home lies. However, this happiness was not to last, unfortunatly, as Lilac was forced into hiding by the actions of a woman named Nathallie Demetry. She eventually came out of hiding, only to leave Kai's side once again, leaving him to wonder about her safety. After many months, she returned to Kai. But, again, this was short-lived, as she only stayed with him but for a single night after he returned from the Saluthi Wars in Eden... The Saluthi Wars...Kokukai fought in that near-end of Eden, taking on the leader of the orcish forces, Crackjaw, in one-on-one battle. He defeated the orc, but allowed him to live to be captured by Eden's forces. During this fight, Kai learned a new ability, an explosion of his energy, formed into a dome-like shape, that blocks out all physical objects from entering, and exiting from, the area. He used this ability mid-fight with Crackjaw to prevent the use of arrows shot by the enemy to strike down the leaders of Eden's defenders. However, this also prevented a volley of large bolts from ballistas employed by Tracius Sunain's forces. During his fight, he became seperated from his link with the Astral Plane due to the anti-magick barrier that blocked out all forms of external energy from entering the battlefield. He used almost every one of his abilities, with the exception of his transformation and teleportation skills, thinking that he was still utilizing the Astral Plane's energies. Unfortunatly, this was not so. However, though he was drained almost completely by this act, it also caused his powers to take a substantial jump upwards. This, though, caused him to fall into a comatose state. His body raged with a fever caused by the fact that his physical body could not handle so much of an increase at one time.... He lost this increase of energy, however, due to the fact that his body ended up rejecting it. There is a happy note, however. He regained all of his memories, lost during his last increase in his maximum power level. Though he ended up losing the increase, his memories stayed with him. Kokukai then moved on to the Realm called Purgatory. Here, he fought in a war brought about by the Dark One, the southern continent invading the north. He decieved the Dark One, now known to be named Ludious, and trained under him for a time in order to save the lives of several friends and his loved ones. It was not long after his deception and subsequent betrayal of Ludious that he finally recieved the "upgrade" in his powers and was temporarily fixed into a half-transformed state, bearing draconic wings and horns, as well as all the abilities of his dragon-form. Kai and Ludious met in a horrific battle, one not witnessed by mortal eyes, but felt throughout the land. During this fight, it seemed a miracle had occured, and that he'd won, when the invading armies of Ludious suddenly threw down their weapons and begged mercy from the northerners of Raeyan. The miracle was not to be, as it had only been a ruse by Ludious, sucking dry his own followers of their very hatred for the peaceful northerners to power a desperate attack, one that ultimately resulted in the destruction of Raeyan, causing Kai and his friends to flee and return to Earth, but at the cost of Kai's love, Brandy. Now, he has decided that the time for hiding, for sulking about over failure, has come to an end. He has encountered Ludious once again, this time defeating the menace once and for all, though at the cost of his own physical life. 			Mirage is an assassin, thief, bounty hunter, bodyguard, treasure hunter, fighter, among many others. In short, a mercenary. No matter what the job is, he will do it, just as long as he's paid well. He's one of the best there is, some even say that he's even better than his sometimes partner, sometimes rival, Hawk Cloudwalker....just not to Hawk's face. His appearance is as at the left: he is a half-elf that stands at 5'8", has long black hair, dark hazel eyes, and is 93 human years old. (note: that IS a pic I drew myself, and it IS copywrited...So, no stealing da pic. You can copy it from the page if you want, but, just remember that it's copywrited) He is merciless, almost cruel, at times....but to him, it's just a means to an end. He trusts few and has no family to speak of. He also takes no lover, his last, Karen, died in an attack by six bandits. They came upon her while he was away one day, hunting for food. They cleaned the house out of the valuables, raped Karen repeatedly, then stabbed her in the belly with a sword. She lived just long enough to tell him what happened, then died in his arms. After burying her, Mirage tracked down three of the bandits, hung them up by their ankles, then allowed an entire colony of army ants to swarm over their bodies, eating them alive. He is currenly searching for the remaining three while he wanders the world, taking other jobs in the meantime. When dealing with Mirage, there is one thing to remember: NEVER piss him off. He currently has no home, following only the callings of his heart...as well as the road.

Hawk Cloudwalker is a half-elven Bounty Hunter. His usual chief rival is Mirage Evenstar, as they often tend to cross paths when moving after the same target. In fact, he has attempted to kill Mirage on many occasions, only to find that his traps and ambushes are usually turned against him, but never used to attempt to bring him harm. Usually, Mirages intent is to humiliate Hawk, or to bring amusement to himself, which infuriates the bounty hunter to no end, causing him to detest Mirage even more. His appearance is as shown at right: black, shoulder length hair, a simple vest, and leather pants...a common motif of bounty hunters of his sort. His face is painted to hide several scars which he acquired during a hunt when those that accompanies him, those he once termed as 'friends', even, had betrayed him to their quarry, leading him straight into a trap that nearly spelled his end. He was captured and subsequently tortured quite viciously, then left for dead in the desert sands. He survived, however, and managed to catch back up to his bounty, capturing him, as well as slaying those that had betrayed him. He carries these scars to his body and soul, now, as badges of honor...as well as a reminder of the folly that trust brings. However, just because he is not trusting, that does not mean that he is not trustworthy....as long as his employer(s) pays him well. The only living being that he even comes close to calling 'friend' now, is the Vampyre Hunter Dukal Lee. He, Dukal, and several others had set out upon a rather perilous quest, one that held the fate of an entire Realm once known as "Faerie Land" to the world of humans. During this quest, Hawk first became aware that the Dark Angel Galeed had made his way here. This chance encounter stirred long-forgotten memories in Hawk, bringing them to the forefront of his mind in a rush. His first encounter with Galeed had been when he was but a mere child; the angel had come to his village and slain nearly everyone in it, seemingly just for the sheer fun of it. Hawk and a handful of others were all that remained of that elven village; his parents among the fallen. Hawk swore vengence upon Galeed, who merely laughed and struck the impertinant half-elf away with but a dim flickering of his power. This angered and humiliated Hawk still further. Galeed escaped Hawk's wrath that day, leaving Hawk and his companions to finish out their quest and return home. Some years later, Hawk and Galeed met once again, this time in battle. Hawk, having learned the powerful spell "Holy Wave" since their last encounter, managed to take his revenge upon the Dark Angel and destroyed his daemonic body with his new spell. However, unbeknownst to him, Galeed's essence was not destroyed, instead taking human form and was, thus, reborn as Shakaar Galeed. Hawk has learned through his contacts, however, that his old foe was, indeed, still alive, and was now the Dark Angel of Death, unaffiliated with either side of Heaven's War. Now, Hawk has made it his life's quest to hunt down and fully destroy the monster that had killed his parents. Not long ago, perhaps a year or so back, Hawk finally caught up with Shakaar and his then-wife, Beatrice, in a tavern. He walked in, confident in that his skills (as well as the Holy Wave) would this time be enough to slay the beast. However, Shakaar not only withstood Hawk's Holy Wave, but utterly humiliated him by first defeating him, then asking humbly for his forgiveness for the actions of long ago. Hawk, ever the stubborn, proud man that he is, spat in Shakaar's face and dared him to strike him down. Shakaar...merely shook his head sadly and walked away, leaving the bounty hunter to stew in his own juices. Since then, Hawk took employment from a man named Ludious, one that he was only too happy to take. He snuck into the Galeed castle, protected by an amulet that Ludious had promised him would hide him from the castle's defenses, meager as they were in that world, and left a magical "time bomb" of sorts in Shakaar and Satine's children's room, which exploded, apparently killing the children within. After this, he accepted his payment from, then broke ties with, Ludious, then took to wandering again, knowing that he was as yet not powerful enough to challenge Shakaar on even footing. But, something about his swords made him wonder...

		(Note: Char too new to have much of a background to him, but, I'll put in what I can about him) Salmonius Evenstar is the distant cousin of the half-elven mercenary, Mirage Evenstar. He is a priest of an order devoted to the worship of the God, Loki; he also fights in Loki's name, bringing with him sermons of the God's greatness to the very warriors that fight, and die, at his side, as well as those that he faces, sometimes preaching to those with ears in the very heat of battle. However, as is true to his God's nature, he is also a very heavy drinker, one might even call him an alchoholic. He is usually quite well-behaved in the presence of a woman. But, when he is drinking, he fancies himself a sort of "ladies' man" and flirts incessantly, attempting to bed any female willing enough to sleep with a drunken priest. Sometimes, though, this works out much to his dismay and disgust, as he has, on occassion, "went to bed at two with a ten and woke up at ten with a two". His appearance is as at left, he is blonde haired and has eyes the color of the purest silver. The staff he carries is of a mystical nature, it's use is unknown at this time. As of yet, he has performed few noteworthy tasks, but bears watching, especially when intoxicated....
