By the Grace of God and the support of my beloved patients, I have completed 30 years of service.
Centuries ago a famous physician said "A physician can sometimes cure, often relieve but can always comfort". Modern medicine made vast advance from that time, so does that statement have any relevance now? Though the doctors' ability to cure infections especially bacterial and parasitic has improved a lot, what about the main killers like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, cancers, AIDS etc? So I believe that the statement is true even today. My mission is at least to bring solace and relief to a patient even if cure is not possible.
I am a specialist physician with a holistic out look and caring for the whole person. However diabetes is my area of special interest. I have found that with proper knowledge and following simple princples even the so called difficult or uncontrollable disease can be controlled and complications avoided. Obesity and overweight ,asthma and other lung diseases, heart diseases, blood pressure, cholesterol abnormalities, liver and gastrointestinal problems, infectious diseases and rheumatism are also areas of my interest.
'Prevention is better than cure'. For a person to lead a long and healthy life it is important to prevent diseases as far as possible. If one unfortunately develops one of the chronic illnesses, early detection and proper care decreases the complications, thereby diminishing morbidity and mortality.
Better Health through Better Knowledge
The words of Dr. Elliot Joslin, the famous diabetologist "The diabetic who knows the most, lives the longest", are applicable to sufferers of other chronic diseases also.
