Assalamu'alaikum
Hello, my name is Mulyanto Darmawan, just call me
Darmawan, I was born in Jakarta.
I spent my children hood in this Indonesia capital city till I
finished my high
school in 1983. In the same year I moved to Yogyakarta (around 600 km far
from Jakarta) to continue my study at
Agriculture faculty of Gadjah
Mada University. That was the first time I had to live separate with my
parent, my brother and sister, also my closed friends indeed.
It was a hard day and I feel sad at that time. I was thinking it would be
lonely live in Jogyakarta till I found hospitalized this city. I met a lot of friends and people with the highesh humble and polite character's I have ever met, also I met my beloved wife; we studied at the same university.
Soon after completed my study in 1989, I went
back to Jakarta. As "a Betawi" is
a native people of Jakarta. Weell actually Jakarta is not a really my home town,
bcos my parent is not"betawi". they came from central Java. However, since I was born and mostly my
livelihood is in Jakarta, thats way, Jakarta its
seem become my second home town.
I work at National Agency for Survey and Mapping
(Bakosurtanal)
from April 1991. Here I have been introduced
with remote sensing application for the first time since I known about remote sensing
from lecture, it was just as "a glance knowledge"., I took this course with only 1 credit. Remote sensing application was really rare in Indonesia at that time and our office was leading on promoting and training this technique to the other government official, particularly on thematic and database mapping.
Now many office and department have been using intensively this technique, Nevertheles our office still conducting a Remote sensing and GIS training for operator and analyser from regional government official
My office is located about 50 km from Jakarta. In
July 11, 1997 I moved to Cibinong city in order to make closer to my work. I Thanks
to Allah SWT for His gift of my beloved children NIA,
AI and Irfan.
They were companying me when I moved to the new city. I just stayed for
one year in this city when I had to leave Indonesia on October 1, 1998 to
Japan for studying at Tsukuba University, Graduate school of
Environmental Sciences.
I finished my master degree two year later.
Now I am studying at Tokyo university at graduate school
of agriculture and life sciences for Ph.D program. I have the other activities
than my study such as play badminton, or tennis also jogging, running and of
course barbeque. I have enjoying bicycling whenever go to the campus, I have a
nice bicycle it was a present from my friends sam. I like some traditional
Japanese foods such as "sushi", "onigiri", and "tendo" and for all Japannese sea
food but I don't like Japanese sauce and Japanesse meat. I also like sphagetti
-Italian food. As far as all the food is labbeled "halal", no matter about the flavor I will grasp and taste it
