The Vision

I sit in the sacred circle,
And chant throughout the night.
I become as one with nature,
As my spirit takes off in flight.

I feel the clouds engulf me,
And feel the winds embrace.
I move like a speeding arrow,
But turn with such ease and grace.

I see a lake far below me,
Reflecting a bird so regal.
And soon I come to realize,
My spirit has become an Eagle.

And as I scan the water,
And look upon the land.
My heart is badly broken,
For death is soon at hand.

Mother Nature so weak and dying,
It makes me want to cry.
I never thought I'd ever see,
A tear in the Eagle's eye.

As I touch the earth again,
Once more I am a man.
I try to convince my brothers,
To heal our wounded land.
