A Sinners Prayer

I looked inside with my own eyes,
and saw the truths... no verbal lies.
Where Sorrow is king and Anguish thrives,
constant companions in all our lives.

Sorrow and Anguish so skillfully entwined,
A cloud of depression upon my mind.
Still moving in shadows, blinded to life,
A "Sinners Reward" of trouble and strife.

When looking still deeper, I find a clue,
with tormented cries, I call out to you.
"Jesus, Dear Jesus," I call out your name,
Cleanse my soul with your Holy Flame.

Ease my pains of suffering and strife,
help me to live a better life.
Cleanse my soul of sins dark stain,
Forgiven, and Forgotten, in your Great Name.

Jesus, Dear Jesus, I praise your name,
my urge to sin - You did tame.
To walk in the footsteps of the Prophets before,
reading your words - to learn even more.

Take control of my life, Show me Your Plan,
for I need Your help, I'm only a man...
