The 2005 awards have been finalized concluding the most intersting DWL season ever. We saw the earliest game ever (9am game), the longest (27-25), and the toughest (pouring down rain in the dark). Lets see who got rewarded for this year's efforts...

The awards show had some familiar and not-so familiar faces winning awards. The night began with one of the awards that seemed to be completely up for grabs, the most improved award. This award serves as somewhat of a foreshadowing award for who will have future success in the DWL. Craig Schattner, 2003's winner went on to lead the league in RPG in 2004. Last year's winner, Ryan Motyka, starred this season before leaving. This year's winner of the MOST IMPROVED AWARD goes to: SALAR SAMII

Most Improved Player

1. Salar Samii 45.5% (+3.5 ppg, +3.5 rpg)

2. Scott Henderson 27.3% (+3.9 ppg, +2.2 rpg)

3. Sam Mason 9.0% (+2.3 ppg, -0.5 rpg)

4. Greg Hand 9.0% (+1.8 ppg, +0.3 rpg)

5. Abi Viswanathan 9.0% (-0.8 ppg, +0.0 rpg)

Next up was the Defensive Player of the Year award, another award that was pretty much up in the air. With two former defensive winners still in the league (Adam Browne and Alex Parr)...could we see a repeat? This year's winner for Defensive Player of the Year is: VADIM SHENDEREY.

Defensive Player of the Year

1. Vadim Shenderey 36.4%

2. Craig Isenbart 27.3%

3. Raj Kakar 9.0%

4. Alex Parr 9.0%

5. Paul Ruckerman 9.0%

6. Salar Samii 9.0%

With Ryan Walker out of the league the next award, the 2-man of the year, was up for grabs. The younger brother, Adam, seems to be a frontrunner and would make the first brother combo to win awards. The TWO-MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD goes to: Adam Walker AND Ryan Fitzmeyer. This is the first tie for an award in the history of the DWL. The two are both awarded 2-man of the year.

2-Man of the Year

T-1. Adam Walker 27.3% (6.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg)

T-1. Ryan Fitzmeyer 27.3% (4.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg)

3. Salar Samii 18.2% (6.0 ppg, 6.3 rpg)

4. Abi Viswanthan18.2% (5.0 ppg, 5.8 rpg)

5. Greg Hand 9.0% (5.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg)

The final award of the night seemed to be an interesting one. For the second straight year, Adam Browne destroyed all statistical records. Is this the year he finally gets the most coveted award? Did Vadim win and get his record breaking 3rd? Did Tim or Craig I get awarded for their hot regular seasons? The MOST VALUABLE PLAYER goes to: Vadim Shenderey AND Tim Rumpff.

Most Valuable Player

T-1. Tim Rumpff 25.0% (3-2, 7.4 ppg, 7.6 rpg)

T-1. Vadim Shenderey 25.0% (4-1, 6.5 ppg, 7.8 rpg)

3. Craig Isenbart 16.7% (3-1, 6.8 ppg, 7.8 rpg)

4. Scott Henderson 16.7% (2-1, 9.7 ppg, 8.0 rpg)

5. Adam Browne 8.3% (2-1, 15.3 ppg, 13.0 rpg)

6. Ryan Fitzmeyer 8.3% (3-2, 4.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg)
