| 2007 DWL Award Ceremony | ||||||||||||||||||||||
|
The 2007 awards have been finalized concluding what seems to be the final DWL season ever. For the first time in DWL history, four former DWL champions were in the league at the sametime (Tim, Adam W, Ryan M, Ryan F). We saw the first overall pick get cut before taking the court and we saw three more brothers of league members join. We start with the All-Stars who participated at the DWL's first ever All-star game that was actually played live... |

This seasons awards featured a lot of familiar faces for its winners. The first coming in the category of Most Improved. No one has ever won this award more than once, if you did, that means you must really have turned some heads. To win it back to back, that must just mean you've become sick. In order the previous winners are Craig Schattner, Abi Viswanathan, Ryan Motyka and Salar Samii. After dropping 2.0 in ppg and 1.5 in rpg, SALAR SAMII has been voted most improved for a historic second straight year! |

With the Defensive Player of the Year award up next, it was pretty unknown who would win. Without a strong campaign push we saw in favor of Joel Katz in 2005, it looked like it may come down to the three others left in the league who have won it previously (Vadim, Alex, Adam B). Despite Adam Browne's DWL record of 3 players injured in one season, ALEX PARR took home his second DWL Defensive Player of the year. |

Defensive Player of the Year 1. Alex Parr 31.8% (10.4 pts given up per game) 2. Adam Browne 13.6% (12.7 pts given up per game) 3. Abi Viswanathan 13.6% (11.2 pts given up per game) 4. Scott Henderson 9.1% (11.6 pts given up per game) 5. Vadim Superfin 9.1% (9.4 pts given up per game) 6. Emil Superfin 9.1% (9.4 pts given up per game) 7. Ryan Walker is the only person in DWL history to repeat as 2man of the year. With his brother Adam and Ryan Fitzmeyer sharing the honor in '05winter, that left two possibilities for a second repeat 2man. Ryan Fitz wasn't close to the award, but Adam was. Once again he wins 2man of the year, but once again he shares it. This year our co-2man of the year winners are ADAM WALKER and GREG HAND. |

The final award of the night is always the most anticipated one. Adam Browne owns every record in the books and once again tore up the season nearly averaging a double-double for the third straight year. However, he finished at .500. Kevin Eaton lead his team to the only undefeated record in the league and has his Edge back averaging 8.5 ppg. Tim Rumpff and Vadim Shenderey are last year's co-MVP's. Tim had his best season since 2003 while Vadim had another consistent top of the league performance. After the votes were in... it was determined we would have another repeat MVP... AND a long deserved one all in one. For the second straight year we have co-MVPs in TIM RUMPFF and first time winner KEVIN EATON! |
