| Anna Gorham the New Zealnd Drinkolympics captain during the NZ vs Aust series in Sydney in Nov has turned her back on the country that provided her so much. She was quoted saying 'After the humilation of the match against australia when they won so easily, ive decided to join the Aussie team to get a higher level of competition'. | NZ Captain slams "average Aussie side" 25th October 2004 Just weeks out from the much anticipated first trans-tasman drinkolympics event, New Zealand captain Anna Gorham has openly slammed the Australian side. Speaking with TV3 weatherman Russell Dixon, she was reported as saying she "expects little or no competition at all from an average Australian side". She then went on to add that the NZ D team, captained by Bex Reed would also clean out the Australians. Of her own team she described 'The Wints' as the drinker to watch in the up coming series, and a probable canadate for an STD (sertainly top drinker) award. Reuter |

| Vice President Re-elected 7th July 2003 Despite attemps from Fraser Peat, Matt was re-elected as drinkolympics vice president earlier tonight. He will resume his duties at 8am tommorow morning. During the election Peat openly questioned Ross' leadership and verbally abused him. Peat is to come up infront of the Drinkolympics judicary at 8:01am tommorow morning on a charge of misconduct. |

| Drinkolympics Vice-President Matt Ross has dropped a bombshell on the first anniversay of Drinkolympics, by announcing his resignation. It was unclear at the time we went to press as to why Ross has resigned. He will formally stand down on the 12th of July when a new Vice-President will be elected. Ross could not be reached for comment this morning, but sources close to him say, he believes this is the best decsion for drinkolympics. At this stage Ross will remain a drinkolympian although a final decsion is yet to be made. CNN |

| New Zealands own Daniel Valks of Wellington has come 2nd at the world body surfing championships held in Nadi, Fiji. The competiton was held over a 3 day period consisting of 24 of the best body surfers in the world. Valks eventually lost to eventual winner, world number 3 Marc Graham of Sydney. The next leg of the world series moves on to Spain. Reuter |
