| Review: Once again all the drinkolympians came in anticipation of the years first World Cup, but after late withdrawls from Holland, Argentina, Fiji and Germany those plans were put on hold. Drinkolympian president Dan Valks was faced with his second big decsion in as many meetings, but was left little choice but to pospone the world cup. After the decsion was made the night went off without any major hitches. All events were contested with the acception of the pole vault. Every record was up for grabs in the opening round of the 2003 season, and the competition was fierce with all competitors wanting to clinch at least one record. Dan Valks cemented himself as the short course favourite for the season, while at the other end of the drinkolympics scale Anton and Robb battled away to see who would be the early leader in the prestigious endurance category. At the end of the night Drinkolympics President Dan Valks walked away with 3 records, and Anton one. While it is early in the 2003 seasons all the athletes competing tonight pulled through injury free, and showing signs that this will be the toughest drinkolympics season yet. Steve and Dan got beat up. |
