    SAMARITAN

    another day is upon me
i smile cuz there's nothin better to do
walk down the hall, lucky 7
    and then i'm all alone
    here she comes

samaritan looks me in the eyes
    and keeps her stride
i smile cuz there's nothing else i can do
    her angelic pride
    my never bride
she says we'll be back together one day
    i live for that day

    samaritan, let me be
the dark colors of your rainbow
    that's where i belong
    in your spectrum, my love
    save me
    save me

    we walk side by side
a tunnel fashioned of other people's brains
i smile cuz it's what she and i do
    and i promised myself,
that i wouldn't write about her anymore
    but we all can see
    how that's going

    as we say goodbye
    her hand lingers on mine
i smile cuz i have no fucking choice
    as she leaves me eyes
    she's in my mind
she says we'll be back together someday
i can't wait for that day

    samaritan, let me be
the dark colors of your rainbow
    that's where i belong
    in your spectrum, my love
    save me
    save me

    save me....
    save me on your way
    let your summer skies rain
    save me, rain
save me, rain down on me
    rain down on me
    rain down
    rain down

she says we'll be back together someday
i can't begin to express my love for that day
she says we'll be back together someday
i can't begin to express my love for that day
    she says...
    she says...

(TOMMY'S EXPLANATION: this song, when it was written, was a day in the life. it's not
so much brokenhearted as it is discontent... it's also a great attempt to be
optimistic, holding on to the fact that tomorrow will be a better day, and
that it's only going to get better.)
