I have spent the better part of 2006 researching and purchasing Koi. I have managed to select part of my broodstock for the Spring 2007 Spawnings. These koi have been imported from Japan and parts of Southeast Asia. Pond space is limited, so I have chosen the highest quality koi for my broodstock. This assures that all spawns will produce the highest quality koi with limited culls. Only deformed koi are humanely destroyed, all other culls will be sold wholesale.
My main concentration will be on: Platinum Dragonscale Butterfly, Black Karasu Butterfly, Showa, and Sanke
My broodstock will also include: Platinum Ogon, Doitsu Varieties, Ki Utsuri, Hi Utsuri, Bekko, Shiro Utsuri, Goshiki, Various Koromos, etc.
Koi "colored carp" were first developed in Japan by the top Koi breeders in the country. Today, Koi are raised as a collector pond fish. Some of the finest specimens are entered in Koi Shows around the world and can range anywhere from $50 to $100,000+ per Koi.
Below are some pics from 2006-07. I hope to post some pics of each individual koi in my broodstock later. They have been in quarintine since the summer of 2006 and I will photograph each of them this Spring when they are released into the mud ponds. A complete website will also be posted at that time with details on Koi Health, Disease Prevention, Available Koi, Pond Care, Interesting Links, Shipping Information, Pictures of the Farm, etc. |
