JOB TIERS on ABJURATIONS and SKY DROPS ====================================== Tiers for each item are based exclusively on the item's value to a given job based on the statistics the item offers and their impact on the overall performance of the job. In certain instances, however, a job's tier may be increased at the discretion of the link leaders due to the effects of other equipment available (or not available) to that job. eg. DRG may be allowed first tier (or even priority) on Hecatomb harness abj. since the other equippable jobs already have access to a body piece with +10 accuracy. DRGs, in particular, get shafted often in FFXI, even in their 'own' abjuration set, Wyrmal/Crimson. Priorities will be set by each individual linkshell, but certain aspects are fairly obvious. eg. MNK is more useful than BST in {sky}, so on items where their tier is the same, MNK has priority. Job tiers is always a touchy subject here, but the tiers selected are based on the statistics of the item and their impact on overall job performance. However, most of these items will be given out based on individual participation (good), and quite often, favoritism and ignorance(bad), so job tiers for these tend to mean little. Tiers mean squat for the Osode, mainly because its rare, not rare/exclusive. This means that most LSs keep the Osode as a linkshell treasure and assign it to a person based on activity, usefulness, and, again, even more favoritism. Even though tiers don't mean much, I decided to go ahead and break down the Osode's usefulness to each job and assign tiers anyway. However, in the real (virtual) world, NIN RNG WAR and MNK typically have priority for the Osode. Kirin's Osode: Lv74 R/Ex Body BRD BST MNK NIN RNG SAM WAR DEF:52 MP+30 STR/DEX/VIT/AGI/INT/MND/CHR+10 [LIT+50] Tier 1: BST Tier 2: MNK NIN Tier 3: BRD RNG SAM WAR I know this seems a little biased since I am a BST, so here is my explanation: MP+30 goes to both BRD and BST since they both sub whm often. BRD+1 BST+1 STR/DEX+10 go to all melee jobs, of course. BST+1 MNK+1 NIN+1 RNG+1 SAM+1 WAR+1 VIT+DEF go to all jobs that often spend time under direct attack. BST+1 MNK+1 NIN+1 RNG+1 SAM+1 WAR+1 AGI goes to any job that needs evasion or ranged accuracy. BRD+1 BST+1 MNK+1 NIN+1 RNG+1 SAM+1 WAR+1 INT goes to jobs that regularly cast direct damage spells. NIN+1 (the +10 INT helps all jobs resist spells equally) MND goes to jobs that have job abilities that make use of the stat. BST+1 MNK+1 CHR, again, goes to jobs that use the stat. BRD+1 BST+1 Tallying up, BRD3 BST6 MNK4 NIN4 RNG3 SAM3 WAR3. If all available equipment is taken into account, melee generally swap in the Osode for WS. RNG would wear fairly often, due to the STR and AGI. MNK would use it to prep {Chi Blast}, and BST for {Reward} and {Charm}. BRD would use it for enfeebling songs, and for a lil extra mp. The +10 mnd would not increase healing significantly, but is a nice bonus when included with the CHR/MP. NIN, WAR, and SAM seem to have better equipment for the body slot, and therefore Osode is a WS-only piece.
