Official DRIBL Fantasy Basketball Rules STANDINGS-(Assuming 12 teams) Standings will be compiled in each of 6 categories. Point values are awarded inversely for the place in which a team finishes. E.G.: 1st place=12 points, 2nd=11 pts, etc. These values diminish by half for the two "half-categories" of Blocks and Steals... E.G.:1st=6 pts., 2nd=5.5 pts. A tie in a category awards the middle amount between the two places shared. If two teams tie for 6th, that means that 6th and 7th are shared, and halfway between those two award points (7 and 6 respectively) is 6.5. Therefore, both teams are awarded 6.5 points. Once all point values have been awarded, they are added together to determine the overall standings. If a team finishes in 1st in all categories, its overall total would be 60. If a team finishes last in all cats, its pathetic point total would be 5. TIEBREAKER- If 2 Teams are tied in the overall standings, their relative positions will be compared, and the team that finishes ahead in more categories gets the higher spot. 2ND TIEBREAKER- Since there are an even number of categories, the team that has scored the most NBA points will be awarded the higher place. SALARY CAP-Each team is allowed to spend up to $150 on a total of 12 players. NEW FOR '07-'08: After the draft, the total salary of a team's active and reserve players may not exceed $250 or fall lower than $100. FINAL MONETARY AWARDS-1st Place-50%,2nd Place-25%,3rd Place-15%, 4th Place-10%. CATEGORIES- 1)Total points scored; 2) Rebounds; 3) Assists; 4) Free Throw %; 5) Blocks (half) 6) Steals (half) DRAFT DAY-The Draft will be held this season on October 29th, 2007 at 7 PM EST (if possible). Allow 3-4 hours for the process. In the Draft, each team will bring up a name and a dollar value. The order of nominations will be determined by last year's stan dings. Sixth place team drafts first, down to the last team, then fifth through first.. Bidding process: Open bidding ensues. Bidding increases in a minimum of $1 increments. WHO CAN BE DRAFTED- Only players who are still in College are not allowed to be drafted. HOWEVER...only players on an NBA roster or injured reserve may be acquired once the transaction period begins. SUPPLEMENTAL DRAFT: After the draft is complete, a team is allowed one move to the IR of either an injured player or a holdout. The player may either be Waived or placed on IR. Once the teams wishing to take part in the supplemental draft have been determined, the draft order will be the order determined by the thaw-out lottery. All players taken will be assigned salaries equal to a regular transaction (e.g. $5 or $6 depending on the move). Any team taking part in the supplemental draft forfeits their 1st round thaw-out pick. TRANSACTIONS: There are 3 ways to drop a player from your 12 man roster, and 4 ways to acquire a player. To drop a player, you may:

WAIVE A PLAYER-By waiving a player, you allow him to be available to all other teams in reverse order of current standings for a period of one week. After that time has elapsed, the waived player is considered released and in the Player Pool, available 1st come, 1st served. Cost-$1. TRADE A PLAYER(or players)-You are allowed to trade a player or players to any other team in exchange for any other player or players. The cost of the trade is $10, paid as mutually decided by the teams involved, and regardless of the amount of players included in the trade. Future considerations and/or monetary compensations are STRICTLY PROHIBITED!!!!!!! DRIBL Fair Trades Act (AKA ANTI-TANK Provision...new for 2004/2005!!): After the season starts; 1. No more than one X player may be traded from one team to another. 2. No more than a total of three players may be traded from any one team to another. 3. There is a cap of $85 in the total player value a team may trade to another team. For purposes of figuring the cap amount, X players are given a minimum default value of $35 or their actual value, whichever is greater. The above rules are effective THROUGHOUT the season, not just per trade. During the off-season there are no restrictions to trades. PLACE A PLAYER ON INJURED RESERVE-A player may be placed on IR regardless of whether he's hurt or not. You may reactivate a player from IR after one week. You are allowed to keep a player on IR as long as you like until the season ends. Cost of IRing a player is free. You must carry a player on your active roster for at least 1 week before you can put him on IR (unless he was acquired through a trade). Your Injured Reserve list may never exceed THREE players. To acquire a player you may: ACTIVATE AN UNCLAIMED/UNDRAFTED PLAYER-First come, first served. Cost-$5. Any player picked up must be on the active roster for at least a week. A player can not be picked up and immediately placed on reserve. CLAIM A PLAYER ON WAIVERS-You will acquire this player if no team below you in the current standings claims him before his waivers expire. When you do acquire this player, you will receive his stats retroactive to the first transaction deadline after you claimed him. When you claim someone, you must specify who's being dropped. Cost-$5. REACTIVATE A PLAYER OFF INJURED RESERVE- Cost-$10, never to be included in the determining of a salary. However, the $10 will be included in the cost of reactivating a player in order to waive or release him. ACQUIRE A PLAYER THROUGH A TRADE-Explained above. WEEKLY TRANSACTION DEADLINE: A player's stats will be effective on a weekly basis only. If a team activates a player before Monday at 7PM eastern,it will get that player's stats for the next week etc. If a team misses the deadline, it must wait another week till it gets the stats. Teams must pray to the Basketball gods that a star does not go down on a Monday night. If you pick up a guy you suddenly realize you don't want, say on a Sunday? You can Waive, Release or Trade him before he becomes active on Monday (unless he's on Waivers already). On Monday holidays like MLK's birthday, the NBA schedules day games. Deadlines move up accordingly.

TRANSACTION CHECKS: If a team calls in a transaction, the commissioner assumes that it understands the cost and will immediately send the league a check for that amount. Each team has a $200 limit in transaction dues, after which a team's roster will be frozen. In other words....no moves will be allowed if you owe us more than $200 a week after you've been informed of reaching the limit. All teams must be paid in full by season's end, or will risk the forfeiture of their franchise. RESERVE CLAUSE AND OFF-SEASON PROTECTION-When a season ends, a team must protect 6 players on its roster for next year's league. These 6 will form the basis for that team in the draft. If one of these six holds out, becomes injured, goes abroad or retires before the draft, he must be retained throughout the draft, but can be placed on IR immediately afterwards under the terms of the Supplemental draft (explained above). You are allowed to reserve a player at his salary for 3 years only. After the third year, you may protect him for an additional season by raising his salary an additional $10. At the end of his 4th season he becomes a free agent and is returned to the draft. When traded, a player retains his contract status. TRADING DEADLINE-The trading deadline is four weeks after the ASG. Trading lines reopen after the season ends and remain open until opening day. You may trade even after the protection deadline, so long as you retain 6 players where their total salaries do not exceed $144. ROSTER FREEZE AND THAW-OUT-All rosters are frozen from opening day until November 12th. On that day, known as Thaw-out Day, a free agent 'draft' ensues. The 1st round selection process will be in the same order as the original draft. A team that made a Supplemental pick after the draft, forfeits their first round pick in the Thaw draft. Subsequent rounds will be conducted in reverse or order of the current standings. You are allowed to activate a player you IRed at the supplemental draft during the freeze. PROTECTION DEADLINE- OCTOBER 22nd, 2007!!! All teams should call or e-mail in their protection by the deadline, the commissioner will e-mail his in to a team of his choice, usually SLUDGE. SALARY DETERMINATION-You protect a player at last year's salary, which was determined either by his cost in the draft, or the total amount of the transaction it took to obtain him. E.G.: Waive a player, $1, acquire an undrafted player prior to ASG, $5. Salary for new guy= $6. Once a player has a salary determined, it will stay that way until he is put back in another draft. (See reserve clause)If undrafted, his salary will then be determined by the first transaction that puts him on a team.
