| What is your name? Norma White |
| Tell us a bit about yourself I have been doing daycare for the past 6 years and love doing it. I work evenings at a doctors office part-time for 8yrs now. and find being home during the day works well for our family. I am a mother of 3boys and beautiful little girl whom we have adopted. There ages are 2,3,7 and 12. In my spare time i like to sit back with a good book and spend quality time with my family. |
| Where are you located? I am located at Grandview/Bloor in Oshawa. Which is the Grandview Public School area. |
| What is your Daycare name? Norma's daycare. |
| How did you come up with your daycare name?
I could not think of anything so i just used my name. But i would love a suggestion of one. Something i keep thinking about. |
| How long have you been providing daycare?
I have been providing daycare for approx. 7yrs now |
| What was your "inspiration" to get involved in the daycare field?
After having my 2nd child i decided i would take a medical asst. course. I had been working for Hallmark Cards Head Office for 12 yrs and wanted a change. When i could only get partime in that field i thought i would enjoy being home during the day for my children. Why not be there for someone else. |
| What is your favorite part of your "new" profession?
Favourite part of this profession is to be there for my children and enjoy being there for another family as well. |
| What was your old profession?
In my old position i was a customer service representative |
| If you had a $1000 to spend on things for your day care, what would you buy?
$1000 to spend i would purchase more outdoor toys and supplies for the daycare. |
| How did you learn about the daycare association? I heard about the daycare assoc through a newspaper ad. |
| How long have you been a member of the day care association?
I have been a proud member of the durham daycare assoc for the past 7yrs |
| Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
5yrs still doing what i am doing and loving every minute of it |
