Tell us a bit about yourself
I am an Early Childhood Educator graduate from Georgoe Brown college. I graduated in April 1999.
I have 3 beautiful children- a 10 year old boy, a 4 year old girl and a 19 month boy.
I also have a Chris. He�s great!

Where are you located?
I am located at Brock and Taunton (Whitby) across from the Walmart.

What is your Daycare name?
My home child care is called KIDZ WORLD

How did you come up with your daycare name?
Actually, my son came up with it.

How long have you been providing daycare?
I started my home child care in November 2005.

What was your "inspiration" to get involved in the daycare field?
I�ve always really enjoyed the company of little people and the fact that I too can get down and dirty and have fun with them. I mean, come on, where else can you PLAY for a living (not that that�s ALL I do) and not get in trouble from your boss?????

What is your favorite part of your "new" profession?
I like that I can decide how I am going to run my program. It�s great knowing I can use bits and pieces of other philosophies to create what I think is the best one. I also like the smaller group that I care for. In a centre it can be tough to bond with each child as there are so many. In my home child care there are seven of us and even though some days it feels like 77, really, we are all family. The kids get along so well and I just love to watch and take part in their exploration.

What was your old profession?
Well, before I opened my own home child care, I worked in a child care centre in the Yonge and Eglinton area of Toronto.
Before that I worked at Dominion part time while going through high school and college.

If you had a $1000 to spend on things for your day care, what would you buy?
I�m sure it�s been said many times before, but I�ve got to say it again, STORAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I�d really love to have some nice cubbies for each child at my front door and some more wooden shelves.
Oh, and more books too. You can never have too many books!

How did you learn about the daycare association?
JULIE! I met Julie when I was still planning on going back to work and looking for care for my two younger ones.
Once I decided to do it myself, Julie informed me about the group and how helpful it was to belong to.
I�m so glad she did.

How long have you been a member of the day care association?
Since November 2005.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
That�s a really tough question. I really like my job right now, but I REALLY want to go back to school and eventually become a teacher. I will most likely do this until I actually get into the teaching field-however long that takes.
