2:111-118 JEWS, CHRISTIANS, AND MUSHRIKEEN
2:111 “ And they (the People of the Book) said: ‘ No one will
enter Paradise excepting a Jew or a Christian. It is just their
false thinking. Say :‘ Bring a statement, if you are right.’”
2:112 “But, whosoever submitted himself to Allah ( accepted
Islam) and he is sincere also (in his deeds), there is a reward (of
Paradise) for him from his Lord; and there will be neither any
fear nor any grief for them.” (See also 4:125;16:97)
2:113 “ The Jews said: ‘ The Christians have nothing from the
truth’; and the Christians said (the same thing i.e.): ‘ The Jews
have nothing from the truth’; whereas both of them recite the
Book(s). (but each of them considers the other as pagan). It is
exactly the same thing which the People who know nothing
(from the Book) (i.e. Mushrikeen) stated (about the Jews and
Christians). And Allah will give His Verdict on the Day of
Judgement on which they differed.” (See also 22:17-24)
2:114 “ And who can be more criminal than the one who stops
(the people) from entering Allah’s Mosques, where He is
worshipped; and he (also) tries to create trouble therein. It would
have been rather better for them to enter there, in fear. For such
people, there is a disgrace in this world, and a great torment in the Hereafter.”
