2:103 “And had they believed and feared (Allah), there would
have been a better reward (for them) from Allah, if they had known it.”

Magic, Sorcery, Incantation
1. The above Verse 2:102 indicates that the Jews blame that (Prophet) Sulaiman was a non-believer, as he developed the art of sorcery. This Verse forthrightly rejects their statement by stating that the non-believers were, in fact, the devils (amongst the Jews and jinns), who taught the people the art of magic (sorcery, incantation).
2. The People of the Book were habitual of finding faults with the Prophets. It is the Last Book (Al-Quran) which declared their sanctity by stating their names individually, including that of Prophet Sulaiman. Al-Quran states:
“ And We guided (Prophet) Noah (before Prophet Ibrahim) and from
his (Ibrahim’s) descendents, We guided (Prophets) Sulaiman, Ayyub,
Yusuf, Musa and Haroon…” (6:84)
“ And We granted Sulaiman to (Prophet) Daud (David). How excellent
(was he), the servant (of Allah)…” (38:30) (Note: See also 27:19)
3. Again, the above Verse 2:102 clearly states that sorcery is ‘kufr’ (disbelief), and that the people use it particularly to create separation between mana and his wife. wife.
The Holy Prophet
said:
“ Sa’hir (sorcerer) is kafir (disbeliever).” (Razeen-Mishkat:4399
4. Belief in sorcery: Those, who believe that sorcery is truth, they must remember the following
Sayings of the Holy Prophet
:
“…The person, who believes in sorcery will not enter Paradise.”
(Ahmd-Mishkat:3488)
5. Sorcery was commonly practiced in Arabia. When Al-Quran was revealed to the Holy Prophet, the people with sincere hearts were attracted by its attractive verses and they accepted Islam. The disbelievers, however, considered it as magic. (43:30;46:7)
6. With magic and sorcery, a sorcerer deceives others. It must be noted that no body could deceive the Prophets. And our Holy Prophet, being the leader of Prophets, was the wisest of all.
Al-Quran states:
“…And We sent down to you (Holy Prophet) the Book and the Wisdom, and taught you all that which you did not know. And the Grace of Allah on you is Ever Great.” (4:113)
