How could then they be tolerated and guided? All types of proofs and miracles failed to rectify their attitude. Consequently, they had to be punished, since the MESSENGER OF ALLAH, BY DEFINITION FROM AL-QURAN, IS THE LAST PROOF ON EARTH.
The Holy Quran states:
a) “ … We never punish (the people) until We have sent a Messenger.”
(17:15)
b) “ The Messengers (are those who) give good news and warnings so
that no proof is left over with the people against Allah (Almighty)
after the coming of Messengers…”
(4:165)
c) “And for every ummah, there had been a Messenger; (and) when their
Messenger came, the Verdict was given between them with justice
and no injustice was inflicted upon them (i.e. they were not
unnecessarily punished).” (10:47)
d) “ And it is not in the fittest of things that your Lord destroy the
(inhabitants of) towns until He sends to their mother town a Messenger
reciting to them Our Verses (Commandments)…”
The disbelievers thus had no other choice but to believe in the Holy Prophet, otherwise they had to keep themselves ready to be punished.
