4. As mentioned at the end of Al-Baqarah, the believers pray to Almighty Allah to grant them victory in their hectic struggle against the non-believers.
Note that the last two Verses of Al-Baqarah were revealed to the Holy Prophet in Mecca around Meraj, a year before migrating to Madina, when the believers were being severely tortured and oppressed by the non-believers. Under such crucial circumstances, they were taught these splendid Verses, which proved to be a source of great satisfaction and strength for them. (See Tafheemul-ul-Qran under 2:286.)
Almighty Allah accepted their prayers and granted them a splendid victory within a short period of time in the Battle of badr, as mentioned in the next Chapter under 3:123, and also in many other battles. They will be highly rewarded in the Last world also for their heroic struggle, when
Almighty Allah will admit them to the Ever-Lasting Gardens of Paradise, as in 3:195, stated below:
“ Thus, their Lord accepted their prayers (and responded): ‘I will not, at all, destroy the deeds of any of you, may that person be a male or female. You are from one another (having equal rights in the matter of reward for your deeds). Thus, those who
i) migrated (to Madina under terrible oppression),
ii) were expelled from their houses,
iii) were tortured in My Way,
iv) fought (daubtlessly), and
v) killed (martyred),
I will surely wipe off their evil deeds from them, and will certainly admit them into the Gardens (of Paradise) under which the rivers flow. This is the reward from Allah, and with Allah is the best reward.” (3:195)
This completes Surah Al-Baqarah by the Grace of Allah.
